I've just plucked what can only be described as a white pube out of the middle of my FOREHEAD!

My FOREHEAD!

Is this some kind of peri-menopausal pisstake nobody bothered to tell me about?

A whisker on holiday?

An eyebrow hair gone rogue?

Or the first stage of my transition into a fat unicorn let's face it, rhinoceros?

Please tell me I'm not alone in finding hair where hair should never be.

This thread has really made my evening!
Putting tweezers in glove box tomorrow

A friend of mine has a long thick hair that sprouts in her chin. It just gets longer and longer and she does nothing whatever about it - I would not be able to resist plucking it out - I don't know how she can keep her hands off it!

It's an advance party from your eyebrows.

MulticolourMophead · 02/11/2018 22:01

I get the random black hairs on my chin. The ones that only seem to appear fully formed at least 1cm in length, that never show in the bathroom mirror.

I also get random long hairs sprouting just above my knee at the back of my left leg.

chillipophey · 02/11/2018 22:04

I get one black chin hair but weirdest for me was the long blonde eyelash I got, bottom lid, soooo weird.

MulticolourMophead · 02/11/2018 22:08

I've just remembered I was watching an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress" and watched salon owner Lori running a thumb over her chin and neck in the same way I do when feeling for hairs. I guess she forgot the cameras were running Grin

PlaymobilPirate · 02/11/2018 22:11

I get 1 thick black hair growing from my neck. Dp calls it Barry (the beard!)

PanamaPattie · 02/11/2018 22:14

I get long, spiral white hairs growing out of my cheeks. I wash my face with a flannel morning and evening. I'm tempted to take a time-lapse video of my face.

longtompot · 02/11/2018 22:17

I get one on my jawline which is invisible, invisible I tells ya, until its at least an inch long!!

My dh gets one between his eyebrows which is a hard tiny spike. Until he pulls it out and its about an inch long. White and hard like a spike! Everytime he pulls it out, which is a few times a year, he says it was probably poking into my brain!

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 02/11/2018 22:23

MulticolourMophead it's always the thumb isn't it 🤣

LittleBittyKitty · 02/11/2018 22:26

This is the funniest thread I've read on MN in a very long time. 🦄🐒🐱

boohooyo · 02/11/2018 22:27

It's totally always a thumb

BuildingQuote · 02/11/2018 22:27

Ok but no one has explained are all these hairs on normal skin or in a mole? Mine sprout in 3 moles on my face (I do realise this makes me sound like a witch but I don’t think anyone until now ever knew this!) and I pull them out constantly and always wonder if it’s bad for the moles or anything!

I do also occasionally get a long wispy cheek hair that’s invisible unless happen to notice it and those get pulled out swiftly too.

JuniorDetective · 02/11/2018 22:29

@MulticolourMophead I was just going to add that I can recognise the hair hunt from a thousand paces! I was at a conference once and the host stayed on the stage sat on a chair and I saw her do the hair hunt stroke whilst someone was speaking.

MsNowtyBach · 02/11/2018 22:37

I get one very fine but very long hair on my shoulder occasionally, it's so fine and blonde that it's hard to catch.

Flashingbeacon · 02/11/2018 22:53

When I was getting an eyebrow wax the beautician very tactfully said “shall I just do a few strays on your face too”. I thought great, there’s 3 in a row I can’t get till they catch in my jumper. She proceeded to wax my entire face and neck. Exactly where a beard would be!!! I stupidly asked if she was getting anything because I felt she was just be thorough. She showed me every wax strip. I was a bloody yeti.
Told my aunt and apprently all the women in my family steadily lose hair after having children, lucky me seems to be getting hairier.

alienor13 · 02/11/2018 23:15

I was mortified to find one on my chin. Convinced myself it was an escaped false eyelash until one appeared in the same place a month later. I am now in monthly whisker watch. Definitely peri menopause and horrid.

brizzledrizzle · 02/11/2018 23:24

Monthly ?! Try daily!

PickAChew · 02/11/2018 23:27

I have on my chin an ancient mile that has sprouted a thick black hair, every time I ovulate, since having my 14 yo. The past 2cyears they've been colourless, but still tree trunk like and itchy.

And I haven't had a period for 4 months and haven't had one that entire time.

DangerMouse17 · 02/11/2018 23:32

When I was a teenager around 19, I was cooking and wearing a best top. My little sister came up behind me and I suddenly had the sensation of being pulled back.

I had a hair in the centre of my back that was like a length of rope!

Cue sister calling in mum, dad and uncle from the living room to have a look and pull it out. ShockBlush

It's never grown back but I check every now and then!

DangerMouse17 · 02/11/2018 23:32

Vest top*

Not best top! 😆

Limaloma1 · 02/11/2018 23:33

Ooh i get the long hair on my forehead randomly too! Its like its grown out overnight, totally stuck and have to pull it out!! It doesnt happen very often though thankfully!

I do take delight in pulling out a single thick black hair from just inside my ear though. That seems to come through more regularly!

Betsy86 · 02/11/2018 23:44

My fellow hairies i have found my tribe!!!
I get them to but my chins got awful this past year.

Also not to derail the thread but well....i was today years old when i realised my nose hairs need doing......
But realised i have no clue if everyone does this or if nose hairs just left in your nose. Oh ffs lol so tell me folks do you trim your nasal hair. Do you just leave them be unless ones really long then pull it out?? Like in general is trimming your nose hair back a regular thing iv just never done.
Mine aren’t hanging out of my nose exactly but whilst lookin for a chin hair earlier i realised just how gross my nostrils look from underneath and realised i dont notice this in other people.
Help Grin

Fozzleyplum · 02/11/2018 23:48

I have found a solution to the peach fuzz/random bristle/Godzilla problem. I bought some eyebrow razors off Amazon, then taught myself detrmablading by watching YouTube videos.

It's very quick to do, and so satisfying to see all the fuzz and dodgy hairs floating away. It also makes it easier to spot the briefly hairs growing back, and tweeze the buggers,if they are not disguised by the fuzz.

WARNING! You do need to use a proper eyebrow razor, and follow the instructions to the letter (short strokes only), or you risk a graze or cut. Also best not to wave a blade around your face if you are pissed.
