Three flights of stairs, two cats, two kids, one Henry. Id be happy to keep the Henry for the main living area but I need something lightweight and cordless for the stairs. That can handle cat hair.

Help!

Could you keep another Henry upstairs and buy a handheld for the stairs?

QueenofLouisiana · 27/10/2018 13:48

I’ve had exactly this crisis today. DH chose a handheld cordless hoover as it had good reviews and was £100 less than a dyson. I’ll report back later.

NC4Now · 27/10/2018 13:50

I’ve got a Miele c3 which is much lighter than Henry. I did my back in with Henry.
I’m a bit in love with my new hoover.

Watching as my Hetty is bloody cumbersome on stairs.

HeavenlyEyes · 27/10/2018 13:54

shark lift away corded - better than anything I have ever owned. Also such a long flex I can do the whole house without unplugging.

Dyson overpriced, Hetty not powerful enough and also keeps falling over, Vax blew up - Shark, amazing.

Reaa · 27/10/2018 13:55

Shark lift away gets my vote too

WitchyMcWitchface · 27/10/2018 13:56

Don't get an upright Sebo as it's heavy to carry up stairs.

DeadCertain · 27/10/2018 13:57

Bosch Athlet pet version. Absolutely brilliant.

MyArris · 27/10/2018 13:59

Shark Lift away corded. Best vac I've ever owned. Miles better than a Dyson.

WildCherryBlossom · 27/10/2018 13:59

I have a robovac thing and a Dyson handheld. The robovac does the ground floor daily and I do the stairs daily with the Dyson. I also let the Robovac loose in rooms as and when necessary, while I use the Dyson to dust, get rid of cobwebs and into tricky nooks & crannies. The range of fixtures on the Dyson is good - a long proboscis thing gets in the gaps of radiators, another little brush ended thing for curtains, lampshades etc etc etc. They are expensive though.

Villanelle123 · 27/10/2018 13:59

My mums shark is fantastic

Ollivander84 · 27/10/2018 14:00

Shark. It shits all over a dyson (I've had both!)

HeavenlyEyes · 27/10/2018 14:02

I agree about robot vac - I have a Roomba which does whole of ground floor daily, briliant.

FrogsSpawnofSanta · 27/10/2018 14:07

I love my shark lift away. Definitely one of my better buys.

viktoria · 27/10/2018 14:20

Miele is great. Don't get a Dyson. Overpriced and not very good.
(... and, James Dyson is an avid Brexit supporter)

Serenity25 · 27/10/2018 14:51

We’ve got a Vax Blade cordless, which is great. Has loads of attachments, for stairs etc.

Ta1kinpeace · 27/10/2018 15:38

Roomba does the main house
Sebo does a deep clean
))))))) dyson ((((((((

Etino · 27/10/2018 15:48

Another shark 🦈 lift away fan here.

QueenofLouisiana · 27/10/2018 21:40

So....firstly I can report that you need to charge my new Hoover for 24 hours before use. sigh

Barbayagar · 27/10/2018 21:44

Miele cat and dog is excellent. Easy and effective.

Barbayagar · 27/10/2018 21:44

Sorry not cordless though.

TulipsInBloom1 · 27/10/2018 21:46

Ive been today and tried a Shark and a Dyson both cordless. Dyson £100 more, but double the time useage.

I think im swaying towards a Dyson Animal.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 27/10/2018 21:53
