Can someone please just tell me what vacuum to get?

Three flights of stairs, two cats, two kids, one Henry. Id be happy to keep the Henry for the main living area but I need something lightweight and cordless for the stairs. That can handle cat hair.

Help!

Thanks Reaa!

Going against everything here- we bought the Dyson v10 last wknd and it has transformed my life. So powerful and light. Whole house done on one charge! Also have a Miele bagless but this is as powerful and far easier to manoeuvre.

jalopy · 30/10/2018 07:46

Love our Miele for deep clean hoovering.

Also got the Dyson cordless to do quick jobs but the brush gets clogged instantly with hair strands and fibres. We don't even own dogs. Wont be re-buying.

I'm convinced, I'm going to buy a shark. One cat, one dog, three kids two story house, what model would posters recommend?

runningtogetskinny · 30/10/2018 12:26

Onynx I agree! I have a very fluffy golden retriever and the dyson V10 animal is a godsend, never clogs either

MsMiaWallace · 03/11/2018 08:32

Yes ours is the shark duo. X2 batteries.
It is lightweight & folds down in half so stores easy.
Fantastic vacuum

So has someone at Shark spotted this thread and told everyone in the office to get an MN account and say how boss the Shark is?

TristanDaCunha · 03/11/2018 09:38

Grin VisitorsEntrance - I was thinking the same thing but can't be bothered to advance search the posters!

I bought a Hetty because of the overwhelming number of recommendations on MN - I hate the grinning little fucker and am sure it will be the death of me on the stairs one day.

Ollivander84 · 03/11/2018 09:49

@VisitorsEntrance I definitely don't work for shark purchased with my very own money
And I hate hoovering! But yeah it's easy to use, better than the dyson I had, cleans well and seems well made

VisitorsEntrance · 03/11/2018 13:01

Can someone with a shark tell me how easy it is to remove hair from the roller? I have very long hair and the rollers quickly get clogged.

MrsChollySawcutt · 03/11/2018 13:05

Both DD and I have lots of long hair. I have never yet had to clean the roller on my Shark. I would have had to take the scissors to my Miele by now. I think the little brushes on the shark roller are good at picking up the hair and disposing of it.

WitchyMcWitchface · 03/11/2018 13:10

I like my gtech for a quick whizz round- like a carpet sweeper so you don't need strong wrists to manoeuvre it around.

HeavenlyEyes · 03/11/2018 19:07

Shark roller is easily cleaned. The bottom plate unclips with 3 of those plastic screw things you can open with a turn of screwdriver.

Freemind · 03/11/2018 19:36

GTech is very light and easy to use - love mine.

DaanSaaf · 03/11/2018 19:41

Just don't get the Vax blade, it's shite.

Betaday · 03/11/2018 19:45

Love my Shark

YuhBasic · 03/11/2018 19:47

Shark liftaway.

Does indeed shit all over Dyson. Shits on it and calls it names.

Vallahalagonebutnotforgotten · 03/11/2018 19:59

Shark Liftaway best ever - A hoover with headlights what is there not to like Grin

Rafflesway · 03/11/2018 20:23

I have had mine just over a week and it is fabulous!!!!!I
(Bought direct from Shark website but went through Topcashback. Got extra 10% discount plus cashback with free next day delivery.)

StompyDino · 03/11/2018 20:30

We got Shark corded liftaway from AO for £189 and it’s so much better than our old Dyson. Easy to do the stairs and the light on the front is surprisingly handy. My sister has the Duo Clean and loves it.

Somewhereovertherainbow13 · 04/11/2018 10:31

I’ve just got the gtech, they had a deal on so got the upright and a hand held relatively cheaply. Love both of them compared to our dysons that have never lasted a long time
