Married in the registry office at 4pm with just our parents present.

Whole pub (small, country-type) booked out from 4pm.

Guests told the pub will be booked from 4pm, arrive when you can.

Nibbles out from 4pm for when guests arrive.

Pub games (quiz, Mr and Mrs etc.) at 6pm.

Buffet from 7pm.

Disco starts at 7:30pm.

Dress code - casual, night at the pub!

Sounds lovely. Be generous with nibbles and buffet.
Congratulations Flowers

dfwr · 26/10/2018 10:17

Sounds lovely.

DelphiniumBlue · 26/10/2018 10:17

Sounds fun. But I wonder if 6-7 on is enough time to receive guests, do a quiz and play games, especially if people are not all going to arrive at the same time.
But yes, I'd love to go to a wedding like that.

Sounds like fun to me!

MaxPepsi · 26/10/2018 10:19

Sounds lovely.

Congratulations.

WoofofWallStreet · 26/10/2018 10:20

Oh that's a relief Smile

Hmmm, yes, might need to rethink the times of games etc.

Oh don't worry, food will be plentiful Grin

I’d be happier telling everyone to either arrive at four or six. I’d be happier as a guest to know when I was meant to be there too. Otherwise, sounds lovely!

MadeForThis · 26/10/2018 10:23

Agree. Ask guests to arrive at 4. Then you should have everyone there by 6

EquestrianL · 26/10/2018 10:24

make sure there's loads of crisps and you're sorted

WoofofWallStreet · 26/10/2018 10:24

Good point

I think perhaps if we say to arrive 4-4:30pm then we could shift the games forward a bit to 5pm.

It sounds brilliant!

Rockbird · 26/10/2018 10:25

Sounds fab, I generally hate weddings but I'd happily go to yours.

WoofofWallStreet · 26/10/2018 10:25

The pub is amazing for food and always lots of it so no worries about the amount of food available Grin

KeysHairbandNotepad · 26/10/2018 10:26

Sounds great.

As long as you can comfortably afford it and there is plenty of food it'll be fineSmile

I hope you have a lovely day.

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/10/2018 10:27

Are you having any photos done? That can be the time consuming bit.

haverhill · 26/10/2018 10:27

The best wedding I ever went to was pub-based 😀 Most people would enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and absence of the normal wedding nonsense.

WoofofWallStreet · 26/10/2018 10:27

@rockbird Yep, I hate weddings too. I don't really want a "wedding" but both mine and DP's parents are keen to have some kind of family celebration/get-together. I'm not averse to that but if we're doing it, I want to make sure it's done our way

That's why there are no speeches, no sit-down meal, no stupid dresses, no photographer. It's just a night out at the pub under the excuse of "we signed a bit of paper today" Grin

NothingOnTellyAgain · 26/10/2018 10:28

sounds good to me as well.

Agree with others about being generous with snacks and buffet and then guests will a. Not get hammered too quick and b. Feel that they have really been treated

Congrats! (Assuming it's your wedding!)

WoofofWallStreet · 26/10/2018 10:28

Nope, no photos.

WoofofWallStreet · 26/10/2018 10:28

Yep, it's my wedding Grin

Easterbuns1 · 26/10/2018 10:29

Sounds perfect tbh!

HRTpatch · 26/10/2018 10:29

Bloody great idea.
Totally your day.

Sexnotgender · 26/10/2018 10:29

Sounds lovely. Enjoy!

tectonicplates · 26/10/2018 10:32

Sounds fab!

Just bear in mind that whenever anyone plans a wedding, there'll always be someone who's determined to be offended whatever you do. So 99.9% of your guests will love it, but just remember to ignore That Person. Smile
