If you have a fabric sofa, and it isn't grey...

...then what colour is it, please?

I've been staring and staring at sofas until my brain is scrambled and I've forgotten what normal living rooms look like.

Don't want leather or grey. Ivory walls and wood floors, a clean slate.

What is a normal sofa, please?

Warm lilac

myidentitymycrisis · 22/10/2018 19:10

blue and I hate it!

EnidButton · 22/10/2018 19:12

Mine are a pale cream. Go with everything, have stood the rest of time. Very bored of them now though.

Friend just got pale blue sofas which are surprisingly quite neutral. They're really lovely actually.

Green

PrimalLass · 22/10/2018 19:13

My current sofas ARE grey-ish but the last ones were navy.

BlancheM · 22/10/2018 19:13

Green.

Ours is covered with throws (to protect it from animals and children), it looks nice and we can change the colour when we feel like it (you needs three throws, one for each arm and one for the body).

Yogagirl123 · 22/10/2018 19:15

Mid beige, g plan fabric sofa, so comfortable, we have had leather in the past, so pleased to be back to fabric now our children are older. Much nicer than cold leather to sit on in the winter,

DPotter · 22/10/2018 19:15

red and black

Witchend · 22/10/2018 19:17

Chocolate brown. It's great. Shows no stains at all.

Iwantaunicorn · 22/10/2018 19:17

Mustard yellow velvet, chesterfield style, with hot pink and floral cushions. Sounds utterly hideous, has been described as ‘a bold choice’ a few times, but it’s the only sofa we could agree on and both loved.

EnidButton · 22/10/2018 19:17

Oh yes just remembered I've covered one sofa seats with a pink wool throw. It looks so nice I'm very tempted to buy a pink velvet sofa next time.

Dark blue velvet.

ShinyPinkLipgloss · 22/10/2018 19:19

Teal from made.com. I get lots of compliments on how it looks good yet is completely comfortable too!

CountFosco · 22/10/2018 19:21

In our sitting room we have a cheap IKEA sofa with white cover. Covers are piss cheap and we renew regularly because they do stain. We also have a olive green velvet chaise (inherited). When we recover it will probably be grey or blue or a nicer green velvet. We have an orange sofa in the playroom (we have white walls and furniture and a grey carpet and blinds).

Does this help, think you've got just about every colour so far!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 22/10/2018 19:22

Duck egg with a check pattern. I thought the pattern would hide the inevitable marks well enough to get away with the pale colour. I was very wrong.

PhilomenaDeathsHeadHawkMoth · 22/10/2018 19:23

Red

Bloodybridget · 22/10/2018 19:23

One's red, a sort of light red now, the other is light fawn.

JaniceBattersby · 22/10/2018 19:23

We’ve got olive green velvet and an ochre velvet footstool in our fancy front room. It looked fucking amazing on day 1. It’s less than a year old and has stains all over it. There’s no way to clean it. I have four young kids who aren’t allowed on it but they sometimes get a sticky hand or two on it. Then last weekend my son puked a tiny bit on the footstool. It mustn’t have liked the acid as within a minute the velvet had bleached.

Never again.

DelurkingPWB · 22/10/2018 19:24

Emerald green velvet 4 seater

TooMinty · 22/10/2018 19:25

Purple in one room, teal in another, grey in the third!

LizzieBennettDarcy · 22/10/2018 19:26

Ours is Norsk Blue.... it's not blue and not grey, but somewhere in between.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 22/10/2018 19:27

Lime green! I worried I’d get fed up of it very quickly but we’ve had it 5 years and I still love it, the rest of the house is very neutral so it doesn’t look too much.

Dumbledoresgirl · 22/10/2018 19:27

Russet red. Yes, it dates to about 2000 but I love it as a colour and got my even older suite recovered to match when the original multi coloured fabric wore out.
