I (accidentally) punched my dog

Taking Ddogout for a walk earlier. Had his ball in my hand and as I went to throw it he jumped to catch it. Resulted in my hand meeting his rock hard head head with a very nasty crack.

It swelled up straight away so I went to minor injuries and I've broken my ruddy finger! Dog is 100% fine... His head is apparently much harder than my hand.

How's that for a stupid injury?!

Poor doggy Wink

Hope your hand isn't too painful! Flowersw

comedycentral · 20/10/2018 19:56

Oh no OP! My dog ran around a tree today very giddy and her lead somehow managed to wrap around my husband's leg and friction burn through his sock! Ouch.

QuestionableMouse · 20/10/2018 20:02

It's my right hand which is super annoying because I'm right handed. Not too painful thankful.

Friction burns are the worst! I once got rope burns on both hands and I honestly think it would have been less painful to chop them both off!

Here is the guilty party.

Id say your dog headbutted your hand Grin

Urbanbeetler · 20/10/2018 20:08

He looks fabulously guilty.

isthistoonosy · 20/10/2018 20:08

First time I got friction burns (on both hands), my 'very nice' army trainer made me put them in a ice cold puddle - worst pain ever!

PippaRabbit · 20/10/2018 20:10

Aww look at the wee face. Ddog clearly doesn't give a fuck 😂

Lorddenning1 · 20/10/2018 20:16

When I first read your title I was ready to pounce a tell you what a horrible person you are, but I actually laughed 😃

WhyDontYouListen · 20/10/2018 20:17

My dog broke my dd's leg, so I think you got off lightly with a finger 😂

ShockedHorrored · 20/10/2018 20:20

I thought this was going to be a very different thread and was all fired up. I don’t even own a dog Blush

outreach29 · 20/10/2018 20:23

oh goodness - I would like it if our ddog broke my finger so I could have a legit 6 weeks off work and sort my house out Envy

outreach29 · 20/10/2018 20:24

BTW that is one cute dog

ThirdChildFourthPile · 20/10/2018 20:27

I doubt he’s 100% fine. Having just been punched in the head.

QueenofLouisiana · 20/10/2018 20:29

DS fell over a dog and broke his finger earlier this year- it was a teeny-tiny dog too! That was a fun trip to A&E (as they asked DS for the 4th time to tell them about how he injured himself).

QuestionableMouse · 20/10/2018 20:30

I'll rent him and a tennis ball for a tenner a go 😂😂😂

@ThirdChildFourthPile

I didn't actually punch him in the head FFS. He jumped into my fingers. His head isn't even tender (believe me, he's a huge wuss and if anything hurt he'd let me know)

I feel for you, OP. I once accidentally punched my cat in the jaw. He looked stunned and shook his head (as though to clear his thoughts) but he forgave me.

I once accidentally hit myself in the bridge of the nose with the side of a hairbrush and saw stars, so i imagine it was a bit like that for the cat.

BiteyShark · 20/10/2018 20:33

I have often clashed with my dogs head or jaw when he goes for the ball a bit too early. My hand always bloody hurts but he just looks annoyed that I didn't throw the ball properly Hmm

thenewaveragebear1983 · 20/10/2018 20:34

Our retriever used to lift his head up fast and clunk the underside of my jaw with the top of his head, it was like being hit with a cricket bat.

doughnutsare4ever · 20/10/2018 20:35

My dog gave me a black eye once. He jumped up and caught me in the face with the top of his head.

I have a feeling no one believed me when I told people just how I got it.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/10/2018 20:35

Why the horrible title?
Cute dog!

Ifoundanacorn · 20/10/2018 20:36

You really need to change the title. It is cruel and slightly sickening. Ask MN HQ to change it.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 20/10/2018 20:38

Lovely dog. Hope your finger heals quickly OP.

Our little whippet scuffed my chin jumping up on the sofa as I was bending down to stroke her. I saw stars, so painful. Little varmint. I miss her.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 20/10/2018 20:39

with that particular leather collar for Greyhounds/Whippets, surprising sharp.
