Does anybody look good in their passport photo

I had to renew my passport, so I trotted off to the photo booth, I was feeling quite good about myself, I had taken care with my make up and my hair was behaving itself.

I look like I should be on a crimwatch line up!

I mean, I looked like a gargoyle , I had huge eye bags, and I certainly didn't have them when I looked in the mirror.

How has this happened? I now feel utterly miserable and now considering plastic surgeryBlush

I renewed mine at the same time as getting ds’s first one, when he was 5 weeks old. I look exactly as you’d expect someone with a 5 week old baby looks like Grin.
Ds is now 4 and has a passport picture of a fast asleep generic baby. I’m surprised they let him through customs tbh!

I did mine recently really hungover but after a morning sex sess and I look great.

I look like a drug addict in mine.
I still look like me, you can see it’s me but it’s definitely me in the throes of a heroin addiction.

Mine looks amazing. Because I had a full face of slap and used a filter and a ring light and took about 40 selfies and then sent it to some online service to create the pictures. It was never going to happen in a photo booth outside Tesco

My passport photo c. age 21 was amazing.... but then I had clear skin, bright eyes, luscious hair, no wattle and a symmetrical face. Somehow my face is now all wonky and lopsided and my face is fat eyes have shrunk.

The picture is 10 years old, I was 20, without a care in the world.

My passport has just expired.

Eugh no, I was 9 months pregnant and super swollen.

Poor DS was only a week old when his was taken, no idea how we manage to get him in and out of the country because he obviously no longer looks nothing like that.

You have to go to one of those people that will keep retaking it for you, not a booth! I have just learnt this and got a pretty good photo (after making the man with special passport Polaroid type camera redo the photo 4 times).

I had my passport photo taken just after getting my hair done, and I had make up on which I hardly ever wear.

I was feeling very good about myself until I saw the photo.

I looked exactly like my mother Confused

God, mine is truly awful - and it's on my driving licence too now. The lighting must be awful in those booths.

I had my hair up in a high bun and the way it's come out it makes me look like I've got a mega beehive going on. It's very odd. I've had a few passport control guys laugh at it. I swear I didn't look like that when I sat in the booth.

Bizzarely an agency worker took my photo for a visa application last week, again with the messy bun and this time it looks ok. Not good. But I don't make Amy winehouses hair look tame. It actually looked like I thought it did.

So it's the booths. I'm sure of it. 🤣

I'm so glad you asked this, Ithought I was alone in looking hideous. I look like Myra Hindley after a ten day bender and my face is all wonky. I hate it!

I have small eyes and my eyelids and brows seem to come over the top of them so one time when I needed a passport photo I tried to subtly raise my eyebrows just enough to make it so my eyes were brighter and more visible. I looked shocked and surprised and because I came out really pale I looked like I'd actually seen a ghost! This was years ago, in the days when you didn't get to see the image before it was printed and therefore you couldn't have another, free, go. I had paid £3.50 for them, didn't have any more money and had to send the form off that day so I had that passport picture for 10 years!

My current driving licence photo makes me look really angry, like I'm about to kill someone. I got the giggles when it was being taken for some reason but was mindful of the fact that you're not allowed to smile so I tried really hard to keep a straight face. It looks like I'm about to shoot someone.

Bad passport photos are to do with the bright lighting that creates awful shadows around your nose and also makes you look washed out as well as the lens being really close to you so it subtly distorts your features and squashes your face.

I look great ... second passport in a row that I am not ashamed of!

Last time I renewed I went to a local photographer for photos and looked bloody frightening so I went home and put a shed load of makeup on (wear very little normally) and I went to the booth in TESCO, seriously I look good 😂.
