Do you think tartan bedding is hideous or cosy?

DH says hideous hunting lodge, I reckon cosy!

Oh- I mean duvet cover only. Not sheets!

I like mine - I've just put the brushed cotton tartan bedding on for autumn, but mine's quite muted colours with a cream background, not the full on red and green tartan which looks a bit christmassy to me.

LongSummerDays · 15/10/2018 19:02

We've brushed cotton tartan duvet (lovely and snuggly warm!) and it looks cosy. We've a cream background and a red background, I'm looking for another one too.

I like Black watch tartan bedding in brushed cotton but would be far too hot now in brushed cotton bedding!

ChateauneufDuTwat · 15/10/2018 19:04

I love it.

Have the same brushed cotton set from Asda (1 red and 1 cream) with brushed cotton fitted sheet and pillow cases too and they're honestly the warmest and comfiest bedding I've ever slept in.

Buggerbrexit · 15/10/2018 19:04

I like it, can’t stand black watch tartan though (sorry horsemad, just dislike its history).

According to the DM today it’s “coorie” which is apparently the new fucking hygge Hmm

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/10/2018 19:04

Cosy

Meet0nTheIedge · 15/10/2018 19:06

Hideous, sorry.

comeasyouare1 · 15/10/2018 19:06

Love it! Cosy

JassyRadlett · 15/10/2018 19:07

I’m not a fan. Reminds me of the duvet cover I took to university in the 90s.

I don’t mind a (dark) tartan throw but I’m with your DH on full on tartan bed covers.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/10/2018 19:07

Tartan bedding is lovely, my vote is for cosy ! 😄

Mokepon · 15/10/2018 19:07

love it!

EnidButton · 15/10/2018 19:08

Both.

I always love the look of it when it's in magazines or shop displays with the chunky knit blankets and faux fur cushions. Maybe even a wooden stag head on the wall. It looks cosy af, like a lodge up in the mountains surrounded by snow with the northern lights shimmering in the starlit sky.

In reality in a new build or terrace it can look a bit cheesy.

I'm undecided.

Ooooh brushes cotton though...I could come round to the idea.

LeftRightCentre · 15/10/2018 19:11

Love it!

frenchbreadforbrunch · 15/10/2018 19:12

I am freezing already and we have an old, draughty house so I feel the look would go!

DH prefers bedding that looks more NHS-style Hmm

Cosy especially this time of year. I have always liked the tartan theme. [Smile

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 15/10/2018 19:16

Love it...but then I’m the type of person who loves tartan wallpaper and carpet - together Grin

Whitney168 · 15/10/2018 19:18

I am so looking forward to it being cold enough to put brushed cotton bedding on again, but I'd combust at the moment!

Whitney168 · 15/10/2018 19:18

(Oh, and yes to tartan bedding)

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 15/10/2018 19:19

Love it!

MarcieBluebell · 15/10/2018 19:21

It reminds me of boys teenage bedroom. But is cosy looking.

florenceheadache · 15/10/2018 19:22

Love it, but is it cultural appropriation? Do you have to research your family ties? Do the family have any proprietorship over the tartans used (collect a small fee every time it’s reproduced)?

Corcra · 15/10/2018 19:22

I love it 🛏
