DH says hideous hunting lodge, I reckon cosy!

Not a fan of tartan, but it does look cosy in photos.

We're way beyond brushed cotton in this house, after having no heating part of last winter we all have teddy bear fleece duvet covers. Now that really is cosy!

I'm a McXxxxx and DB bought me a family tartan blanket. I think hope as a joke.

I think it's hideous, but DH is always digging it out of the blanket box and insisting on draping it places.

Cosy and am awaiting delivery of my aengus duvet cover. It's a neutral blue and cream check. Hoping to create cosy chalet look in the magazines!

@Misouko67 that sounds lovely - would you mind posting a link?

I love it but it's just too warm for me over night. I'd prefer brushed cotton pj bottoms to lounge around the house.

A couple of years ago I bought a brushed cotton tartan duvet cover + pilllow cases from Sainsburys as part of our Winter bedding. The red in this pic is too bright, it's a tad more muted IRL! The reverse is pale cream too, should we wish to change the colour scheme slightly. It's really good quality - and actually far better quality than the grey, checked, brushed cotton set that I bought from John Lewis!

So a non-tacky vote from me!!!

i love tartan

WhatAboutTheWeather · 16/10/2018 15:10

I have pale blue in the spare room - from M&S, brushed cotton but awful quality - got bobbles after 2 washes.
I'd go for a big bold colour if your room is big enough.

ps Have been thinking about tartan carpets!

Nice felines, Heus

Heuschrecke · 16/10/2018 18:46

Thank you, Venus, they are indeed gorgeous; but that's the only time they deign to acknowledge each other - when the brushed cotton duvet cover is on the bed and they have to share it!!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 16/10/2018 18:49

I have a brushed cotton set from Asda and as soon as it's cold enough, it will go on the bed. It's so cosy and soft, like sleeping in a hug.
