Mine are:
ride a horse on a beach (done the horse bit, not the beach bit!!)
volunteer for the Samaritans (I love helping people)
get a camera and do some photography
volunteer/work for a dog rescue centre

I'll think of more I'm sure, but for now share with me some of yours!

This thread has made me start a list on my phone for what I want to do and what I've already done.

Done
Hot air balloon
Helicopter
Become a mum
Seen killer whales in wild
Swam with dolphins (before I watched blackfish and regretted it)
Got my PhD
Got a tattoo (2)
Taken family to Disney world (X 3 it's addictive)
Been in an award winning documentary (work related, but on Netflix and I got to go to the Toronto film festival for the premiere, so I get some cool points off the kids for that).

Still to do:
Finish my book
Swim in infinity pool
Yellowstone national park
Grand canyon
Go back to Canada and USA another 10 times, or live there for 6 months or so
Become a granny

Lose enough weight that I can:
Go ziplining
Enjoy cycling
Climb Snowden
Abseilling

I've actually done a good few on my list but some I haven't done are:

See Northern Lights
See whales in the wild
Own a campervan
Visit the Norwegian fjords
Go clubbing in Ibiza (too old now 🙁)
I also wish I'd gone off travelling in my 20s rather than sensibly buying a house.

Teacherlikemisstrunchball · 17/10/2018 19:59

I’ve seen the Northern Lights twice and it was truly special, so that one’s ticked off my list. I want to see a show on Broadway and play in a show in the West End (not entirely impossible, as I do play in lots of shows, and there have been several almost opportunities but the stars have never aligned to allow it to actually happen Sad)

pleasesleepinyourownbed · 17/10/2018 22:29

@Annandale your right. You should definitely do it. There were 8 of us. It was just pure freedom & fun for a few days. I never wanted it to end.

puppymouse · 17/10/2018 22:38

Missing point of the thread but I have flown upper class for work and on a family holiday and I honestly found I was keen to be back in economy. I think I have some kind of travel-based Stockholm Syndrome.

I don't have a bucket list. Which I find alternately sad and quite amazing that actually I wouldn't change much. Similar to those aspiring riders on here...after years hoping for one as a child, I got my first horse at 36. He has completed me.

MinaPaws · 17/10/2018 23:09

I've done a few:

hot air balloon
skydive
african safari
northern lights
lived abroad (Paris)
published a book (but not a novel)
happily married with 2 DC
flown first class (once)

Would still love to
lose weight
run a marathon

both of which require a lot of willpower which I'm sadly lacking right now.

goingonabearhunt1 · 18/10/2018 02:59

Write a book/memoir/short story/anything
Go to Japan
Go to the US (not sure where yet)
Go to Venice
Buy a house so I can...
Get a cat.

goingonabearhunt1 · 18/10/2018 03:01

I'd also love to stay in a really swanky hotel just once. normally im a cheapskate but jus wanna do it as a one off treat.

Mumberjack · 18/10/2018 07:16

Swim with sharks - in a cage though not in the aquarium near me.
Write a book and have it published.
See the Northern Lights.
Travel on the Orient Express.
All still technically possible so here’s hoping!!

Awrite · 18/10/2018 07:32

Ha ha - I've just had a vision of what I imagine @Hazelbite looks like, walking out onto the football pitch hand in hand with Hugo Lloris.

Great dream.

Truckingonandon · 18/10/2018 07:33

Learn to dance Argentine Tango.

Try reformer Pilates and Ariel yoga.

Truckingonandon · 18/10/2018 07:33

HazelBite · 18/10/2018 07:40

Awrite, yes I am a pensioner, but it wouldn't be Hugo it would be Christian Eriksen (the magic Dane)
Oh an old girl can dream! Wink

JeezYouLoon · 18/10/2018 07:42

Love this thread!

In January we like to make a list of thinks we want to achieve rather than give up. We try to keep it achievable rather than ridiculous so climbing a local hill rather than canoeing in the Amazon Wink

My long term goals are visiting every county in the UK, getting my belly button pierced (nearly lost the flab so I'll be able to see it)

Ilikegregwallace · 21/10/2018 08:28

Cruise in Alaska and go dog sledding
Visit Venice and take a gondola ride
Meet Michel Roux and Tom Kerridge
Work on a film set
Go back to the Statue of Liberty and visit the crown on a day when there wasn't zero visibility
Have dinner with James Martin Blush

LittleCandle · 21/10/2018 08:35

I want to visit all the castles and cathedrals in the UK.

I want to study medieval history, but probably not until I am able to retire if I ever am able to retire.

I would love to travel to a lot of places around the world, but will never be able to afford to.

TheLastNigel · 21/10/2018 08:39

Ring a church bell.
See the northern lights.

yawning801 · 21/10/2018 09:02

I thought of another one yesterday but I can't remember for the life of me what it was!
