Looking for a song for Mum’s funeral.

Hi, my mum died quite suddenly and I’m devastated. We have never really discussed funeral arrangements with her. She loved nature; was always outdoors. She wasn’t given to great displays of emotion, but we knew, iyswim?

I’m looking for a non-religious song for her funeral. We already have Albatross, plus a favourite song which wasn’t about nature.

I’m thinking of something slightly folky, with a gentle feel, if possible. Can you help?

Sorry to read of your loss. I would suggest 'Some Fantastic Place' by Squeeze.

Thanks again everyone. I will listen to all your suggestions in the morning. I really appreciate the input.

So sorry for your loss.

A hymn I want for my funeral is:

Here I am Lord.

I have a lovely album by Rumer - seasons of my soul which is beautiful. The song Blackbird is really lovely.

How long will I love you, Ellie Goulding.
Sorry for your loss op, this can’t be easy.

We had " All Things Bright and Beautiful" for Mum. She wasn't religious but loved the old Sunday School songs. The great thing was that everyone knew the words, so we had a lovely singalong !

Many thanks all- we have our three songs now. Flowers

@ForalltheSaints - Squeeze were a favourite of Mum’s. Dad and I listened to that track and agreed instantly (through our tears) that it was the one we’d been looking for. Thank you.

My mum also died suddenly in March.

We had Supermarket flowers which was already mentioned, and a song from my Wicked that’s my (then) 13 year old son suggested, For Good. It was perfect.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Circle Game by Joni Mitchell would be perfect. All about the changing of the seasons and how life goes on and people grow. It's beautiful.

So sorry about your Mum Thanks
