Op that's still a lot of money you're paying.
Zola - who are you with and what is the service like? Technically and customer cos that IS a good price.
I'm currently on "old" broadband not fibre (can't believe bb is now "old" style internet I still well remember bloody dial up!!) which I have been happy with so far but I suspect there will soon be a push to move to fibre and leave old bb behind.
Also it's fine when it's just dd and I in the house but when she has friends in and their devices connect (which I have on occasion said to her to ask people to disconnect if they're not really using) sometimes it affects streaming/speeds.
Also we have the problem around here of vandalism of junction boxes then when the bad weather hits it's screwed - does this still connect to fibre bb?
Unfortunately the junction boxes/external lines are still under BT/openreach and it can be murder getting a repair sorted!
Those of you paying above market rate to be with BT can I ask why? Genuine question, my parents are also with them and despite many issues including appalling customer service refuse to budge! They're in their 70's and I suspect it's because they don't trust other companies as BT is a known name to them (as I get older myself I kinda understand the feeling but still don't like them being ripped off). Siblings and I have repeatedly over the years tried to persuade them to ditch BT especially as they're very rural, dad is very sick and mum his carer and they NEED reliable phone service at the very least which they're not getting! Dad also has one of those panic button things for the rare occasions mums out and there's been problems with this due to bloody BT too.
Op you say you also have poor mobile reception at home (which is shocking for London) who are you with for that?
"BT £65 a month. Landline + a few calls, broadband that is slower than a snail's pace and 2 mobiles, both 6GB data, unlimited texts and calls (can't use them to make calls from home though as no signal)." See I don't understand this, why pay so much for poor service?
Great that we have forums like mn and mse to challenge the rip off merchants though.
