...had to spend it on yourself and only on fun/frivolous non essential things/travel what would you do/buy?

Every Doctor Who DVD available and a couple of book cases to hold them . Lol

TeenTimesTwo · 30/09/2018 19:19

Shows.

I'd go back to Harry Potter and the cursed child but book the best seats. For 4 of us that would probably use the best part of £1000.

I'd stay over in London too rather than up and back in one day, in a nice hotel with nice breakfast.

Then I'd see a lot more at our local theatre.

And shows at the RSC in Stratford, again including staying over somewhere nice.

NellMangel · 30/09/2018 19:19

I'd travel rather than buy stuff. Fancy Cape Cod, Maldives, Sorrento. Not sure how far £10k would go.

Mrsemcgregor · 30/09/2018 19:20

High quality clothes, shoes, handbags! And lots of stationery!

PawneeParksDept · 30/09/2018 19:21

Like @TeenTimesTwo I'd do shows.

Other frivolous things :

A supermarket sweep style buy everything I like the look of in a Bookshop

Buy loads of expensive beauty products I couldn't normal justify

sliceofcheese · 30/09/2018 19:21

I'd take the family to London and see some shows, then we'd go to Harry Potter studio and legoland.

Maccycheesefries · 30/09/2018 19:23

Luxury travel around Europe

FabulousTomatoes · 30/09/2018 19:24
  1. A trip to New York with shopping.
  1. A meal and stay at a Michelin starred restaurant every other weekend for a year.
  1. An amazing stereo system
BikeRunSki · 30/09/2018 19:24

Bikes and skiing

A a lovely house reveal so my dispersed family could get together for Christmas. Or maybe Easter. Christmas is not enough notice for that lot. It would be nice to get together for reasons other than weddings and funerals. Especially funerals.

Babynamechange123 · 30/09/2018 19:25

A holiday and new nice clothes and make up. I haven't bought clothes not from a supermarket/Primark for years!

LaGruffaloGrumble · 30/09/2018 19:26

Lots of theatre, couple of posh hotel stays and a posh handbag of the kind that will last forever and only look better as it gets old.

PipeTheFuckDown · 30/09/2018 19:26

Whole new wardrobe for me and DC

Holiday

Latest iPhone/iPad/Watch/Home/ and noise blocker headphones (because I love tech but am broke!)

CoodleMoodle · 30/09/2018 19:27

I'd go and see my favourite band on every night of their tour next year, at every venue, including the ones abroad. This would mean tickets (for me, best friend and poss DM some nights), flights, hotels... and I'd hire an amazing nanny team to help DH with the kids (ours and BFF's). I might even take the two older ones to a couple of the gigs... maybe Wink

DwayneDibbly · 30/09/2018 19:28

New MacBook. Trip to New Zealand. That should take up a good chunk of it. Trip to London for the museums. And some new clothes/toys for DC. Probably exceeded the budget!

Zoflorabore · 30/09/2018 19:29

I would do my house up, I desperately need a new mattress so that too. Also get my teeth whitened, I hate them.

I would love this predicamentGrin

MsAwesomeDragon · 30/09/2018 19:30

A holiday. We've had nice ish holidays in the UK for the past few years, but have haven't been abroad for 14 years. So I'd probably book a cruise for the 4 of us.

Or I'd take the dd's on more weekends away to see shows or do bigger days out.

Mumberjack · 30/09/2018 19:30

I’d spend it all on travelling.

But if travel wasn’t an option and it was all for me...convert a bedroom into a home cinema with squashy sofa.

Also buy any book I like the look of (I’d spend a fortune; I struggle to get to libraries and end up incurring loads of overdue fines).

Ditto toiletries and running/fitness clothes. And a sparkly kitchenaid, although I’d likely use some of the money for sugar craft/baking classes.

Saying that, I would still try to buy things that were discounted or on sale. Can’t help but hunt the bargains.

Mumberjack · 30/09/2018 19:32

Sorry I misread the OP.
Yup Id travel. Orient express, trans Siberian railway, Japan, China, Canadian rockies are top of my bucket list although would go anywhere. And I’d make the money go as far as possible as I’m not fussy for 5*.

MissMarplesKnitting · 30/09/2018 19:37

Boob reduction and uplift and then a holiday where I could feel more comfortable and confident

madvixen · 30/09/2018 19:38

Teeth removed and implants top and bottom. I flipping hate my teeth

DieAntword · 30/09/2018 19:40

I’d pay for a mother’s help part time for a year.

clueless101101 · 30/09/2018 19:40

Travel for me dh and dc. But I would save it till they were a bit older so hopefully gained a little interest. Buy myself an exercise bike to get I shape and a decent wardrobe of clothes

Tiredmum100 · 30/09/2018 19:43

I would take my dh and two dc on a trip around Canada. Go to the rockies etc, and finish off with a cruise around Alaska. Maybe one day!

Mum2jenny · 30/09/2018 19:43

Good diamond ring and an expensive cruise!

DollyWilde · 30/09/2018 19:44

Amazing holiday. Finish the house (it would make me so much happier so I vote it counts! Nearly there though) Shopping spree. A few really great meals out.
