I think he could be a great principled Prime Minister.

He wants to stop the selling off of the NHS and pump money into it. Everyone is equal when it comes to treatment no matter how much money you have The NHS is a gold standard of excellence for all.

The Tories/May want to privatise the NHS. So if you don't have a enough money to pay for private treatment, you will die. Good times ahead if the Tories are in power...

Labour wants More Social Housing, for the young, hard working and disadvantaged, which now also includes anyone under 30, who will not be able to raise a deposit on a average family home.

Rightful payments will made to those who are disabled, or not able to work. Under the Tories there were many legitimate benefits payments rejected to those who had terminal cancer and other life limiting illnesses, The guardian highlighted this issue.

Also BREXIT

What say you?

Why do Labour fans keep harping back to Grenfell. All it's doing is reminding everyone how many people are profiting from so many lost lives. JC cashed in to raise his profile, Various fraudsters cashed by stealing money they weren't entitled to - yet the only one you think is at fault is Tersea for NOT cashing in? Instead she was in the office trying to sort out the crisis. She's Damned if she does and Damned if she doesn't. She's clearly being bullied by the big boys in the EU - does she get support and encouragement to go back and fight harder? NO she gets stabbed in the back by everyone in the UK. Did you ever hear the saying 'Don't shoot the messenger' because that's exactly what you're doing. She may have the title PM but like any committee she's the one that gets all the shit jobs and the one who gets the blame when it all goes wrong. Empathy! you claim to have some! I've seen no evidence of it yet!

David Milliband was on CH4 news a minute ago. If he had become party leader then I doubt we would have had Brexit and all the other crap. I speak as a Tory voter.

moredoll · 28/09/2018 19:52

It's wrong to compare the reactions of Corbyn and May to the Grenfell Tower disaster to try and score political points. That was due to their different personalities and has nothing to with political policies. May has said she regrets not meeting the residents.

There are other aspects of the reaction to the Grenfell disaster that could usefully be debated, not least the behaviour of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, but using different personalitied for a spot of name-calling is the politics of the playground.

Speaking as a Labour activist (ex).

Not quite - no doubt Livingstone will slime his way back too

Probably closely followed by Galloway.

myphoneisgone · 28/09/2018 20:03

No. The lesson from the Rotherham (and many other places) sex abuse scandal was that if people are afraid of being labelled racist (or some other 'ist' or 'phobic') then they won't speak out when they have concerns and children will be at risk or will be continued to be abused (in this case tortured and raped). Yet Jeremy Corbyn spectacularly failed to learn this lesson when he forced out a member of his cabinet for speaking out on this issue. Thereby hindering others from speaking out in the future for fear of not getting the words exactly right, thus putting girls risk. SO no, not voting for someone without
a learning curve and for whom girls come at the bottom of the pecking order of 'worthy groups'.
Nope, never.

Sillysally you'll love this - it seems Galloway is about to launch a speaking tour in Liverpool, along with Livingstone

Make sure you queue up nice and early Wink

Don't think so, labour had already lost the working class at the point of Ed v Dave Miliband, the problem is that politics has fractured, labour has been overtaken by IDPol and neoliberalism Is now a dirty word and the route of all evil, the problem is that current situations are showcasing the "team sports" of politics, IDPol had already cut away the traditional working class that they prided themselves as standing up for and being pro EU and anti neoliberalism shows a complete hypocrisy, the traditional left is lost. Some of its supporters are trying to take it back to the 70's whilst others won't accept where they sit on the political spectrum and think it's a badge of honour to say they would never vote Tory etc

Bluntness100 · 28/09/2018 21:13

Wasn't Teresa May the first person on site at Grenfell, she met with thr firefighters and services there to see what was being done, and she also apologised publicly for not meeting the survivors also that day.

I think playing it that she refused to look them in the eye and meet them is a bit disingenuous really, yes she made a mistake, and yes Corbyn capitalised on it with as many photo ops as he could get.

It's all politics really. And agree I think voting for a party is much wider than hugging people.

I’m telling you that David Miliband is on his way back to British politics. I am absolutely certain that he and other centrist labour members are working on a post Brexit plan to challenge JC. They won’t want to do anything now and they need to find him a safe seat but I’m absolutely certain that there’s lots going on in the background. The anti Jeremy labour lot are too quiet for there not to be and I can’t wait.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 29/09/2018 05:02

I hope this is true Amaaboutthis and I agree some people have recently been quiet

I am not sure all is so great in Corbyn’s camp he has been almost invisible until this week when he gave his speech to his adoring followers Hmm yet McDonnell has been very present in the media - but as Momentum run the Labour Party leadership now they know that without Corbyn they will soon lose power in politics

ThefusilliJerry · 29/09/2018 06:53

Dredging up grenfell again?
The little labour bot is getting desperate 😆

bellinisurge · 29/09/2018 08:00

Where is Corbyn on Brexit apart from beatifically stroking his beard and longing for chaos?
Kier Starmer is doing all the heavy lifting.
We are running out of time for someone to get a grip on this.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/09/2018 09:43

they need to find (David Milliband) a safe seat but I’m absolutely certain that there’s lots going on in the background

I'd love to think this is so, but they can't just magic him up a safe seat. Come to that, they probably couldn't put him forward for any seat with the control Momentum have of the party ...

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 29/09/2018 09:53

I agree Kier Starmer is doing all the hard work and would appeal to many voters and has a solid background

As much as I like David and wished he had won when he had the chance I think he might fall into the too Blair like the same with Chuka. We need a Labour leader that is also going to appeal to leave voters as many are labout voters while appealing to floating voters

boatyardblues · 29/09/2018 16:34

Kier Starmer impressed me with the work he did as DPP, especially his work around addressing rape myths & trying to improve conviction rates.
