I hate it, I haven’t been in a couple of years now, I cut my own, it’s very curly so luckily hides the not always so even cut!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 24/09/2018 17:27

My twin brother is my hairdresser so it’s always nice for us to have a catch up and non stop talking at each other for a few hours!

sniffysnifferson · 24/09/2018 17:28

I don't mind coming for a cut and blow dry, about an hour. But thought I'd treat myself and have a colour etc..my god i forgot how long and boring it is.

Hate it. Going for a colour this week. Not looking forward. Why do people say it’s a treat? Confused

Meet0nTheIedge · 24/09/2018 17:31

It's ok, but I only have a wet cut, half an hour, I can't imagine sitting there for 3.5 hours.

TroysMammy · 24/09/2018 17:35

I only have a wash, cut and blow dry which lasts about 20 minutes. I don't like it and paying £30 for an inch off long straight hair makes me shudder. I enjoy going to the dentist more than going to the hairdressers and it's cheaper.

HRTpatch · 24/09/2018 17:35

I do! Every 5 weeks for cut and colour. Love my grey disappearing.

jenthelibrarian · 24/09/2018 17:38

I hated it so much I got a very lovely mobile hairdresser who comes to me. I don't pay to park, don't sit in a smelly hot salon for ages or have to make inane small-talk and I can use my own shampoo and conditioner. Win!

BlingLoving · 24/09/2018 17:39

I loathe it. I always take a book but when people say, "Oh, I love getting my hair done for couple of hours of me time" I am bemused? How is sitting in an uncomfortable chair, draped with towels, foils etc and making small talk "me time"?

MrsPinkCock · 24/09/2018 17:45

Despise it. Can’t stand having to attempt to make small talk with the most obviously fake, cliquey, self indulgent and shallow people on the planet. And 3.5 hours of my life wasted for the privilege.

Haworthia · 24/09/2018 17:48

Love it. It’s definitely a treat for me. Someone washes my hair and I get a lovely blow dry. I don’t colour my hair so we’re done in an hour. It might depend on the salon though - I’ve definitely had haircuts that didn’t feel as luxurious as I wanted them to be, so I switched to a different salon.

ShirleyPhallus · 24/09/2018 17:49

Can’t stand having to attempt to make small talk with the most obviously fake, cliquey, self indulgent and shallow people on the planet charming!!

QuackPorridgeBacon · 24/09/2018 17:50

I really enjoy it. I hated it before and so I never really went but since finding the right place, I feel comfortable and my hair always looks great. I would happily sit there for hours and I’m contemplating dying my hair again so I can have that uninterrupted me time lol

WiltedDaffs · 24/09/2018 17:50

Hate it. I cut my own, haven't been to the hairdressers in a decade.

ShatnersBassoon · 24/09/2018 17:50

Love it. It's a whole morning of sitting, drinking coffee, reading, nattering. I really like my hairdresser, which helps.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 24/09/2018 17:52

BlingLoving It’s me time because I don’t always have to talk and my hairdresser knows I’m not great at it and doesn’t mind me sitting there quietly but I call it me time because, I have a disabled child and no one but her father can watch her so getting out of the house away from it all is great and I always walk away feeling refreshed in many ways.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 24/09/2018 17:54

3.5 hours of my life wasted How is it a waste? You are getting something done that you wanted... Confused

saganorenscarandcoat · 24/09/2018 17:58

Hate it so I do my own!

smurfy2015 · 24/09/2018 18:03

Would rather go the dentist, like @TroysMammy

smurfy2015 · 24/09/2018 18:05

My hair is very fine and very straight and light, however I manage to cut, colour, wash and condition occassionally. I am often complimented on it esp when I do a new colour. I dont use anything fancy just baby shampoo, tons of conditioner and good scissors with a mirror

LemonysSnicket · 24/09/2018 18:14

Depends. Love having my hair touched, have the small talk and waiting

delphguelph · 24/09/2018 18:20

Hate it..needs must though, once a year

stabbybitch · 24/09/2018 18:48

Weirdo alert! I cry every time I have my hair cut, even if I like the cut. It seems to invoke some kind of emotion in me & I sob after it's done.

It's strange because when I was a small child I had to go to hospital quite a few times & my mum used to bribe me with a trim as I loved it so much so I guess it's some emotional reaction from that.
