Came for a consult then colour...3 and a half hours later and I'm still sat with wraps on my hair. I need Gin

Can't bear it. Can't stand anything about it. Being mauled with, in there for hours, the cost and the inevitable disappointment at the end.

EscapeToTheMoon · 24/09/2018 18:53

Once a year for a one length cut. More tgan enough. And i colour it myself. I can do the housework whilst waiting.

Ameliarose16 · 24/09/2018 18:53

HATE IT! I'm in there for 4/5 hours every time which is every 5/6 weeks- luckily I've been going to my hairdresser years and is very cheap (and in zone 2!) and he always does a fab job!

Yes i do enjoy it but I go to a relatives salon. It's like a salon for those who hate regular salons . Lovely staff, great music, decent coffee and chat and I get a head massage and always leave with exactly what I asked for.

ItsJustTheOneSwanActually · 24/09/2018 18:57

Now I've let my silver fox run wild and free it's a lot quicker and a lot cheaper Grin

Growingboys · 24/09/2018 18:59

No I hate it. Don't. Whom to understand what is enjoyable about it. Torture.

HRTpatch · 24/09/2018 19:02

We get wine in mine.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 24/09/2018 19:03

I hate it. I have really thick hair that takes forever to cut and blow dry. I cannot imagine ever sitting to get it coloured. I really miss my old hairdresser, she was quiet and didn't try making the small talk

purplecorkheart · 24/09/2018 19:08

I love it. My hairstylist is one of the nicest, friendly person I know. Normally there for 2.5 hours every six weeks. I tend to bring a coffee, a good book and also save some jobs do do while I am waiting for the colour to take like booking trips away, sending emails, etc.

Seniorschoolmum · 24/09/2018 19:10

I love it. 2 hrs without someone yelling “muuuum, I can’t find....”. Nice coffee, adult conversation, head massage. Smile

RaininSummer · 24/09/2018 19:13

No hate it and if I could cut it decently myself, I would. Colour it myself which saves a few hours and forty quid each time.

goforkyourself · 24/09/2018 19:20

I love it. There is an amazing gay guy there who lovingly slowly massages my scalp. I get all tingly and happy, think it's an ASMR thing?

QuackPorridgeBacon · 24/09/2018 19:23

stabbybitch Do you cry when you get home, or in front of the hairdresser?

QuackPorridgeBacon · 24/09/2018 19:25

Ameliarose16 How are you in there for five hours every five weeks?

yestocheesecake · 24/09/2018 19:25

@sniffysnifferson I go as little as possible as I hate the small talk (and having to stare at myself In the mirror for so long) plus hate having someone else brush my hair. They can be pretty rough handed and I can't stand when they continue to instigate conversation while the hairdryer is on !! ConfusedAngry

AgentProvocateur · 24/09/2018 19:25

I love it. If I won the lottery, I’d go every day.

Unobtainable · 24/09/2018 19:26

No, I hate it, everything from the noisy hairdryers to the nasty nylon capes annoys me. The coffee/tea is always lukewarm as they font heat the mugs/cups so your drink is stone cold in 5 minutes. The music is usually awful too (some dick trying to rap usually). More than anything else though I hate the inane chatter and bus stop grade conversation on offer. I usually take a book or say Ive got a headache. I tip well to make up for being miserable though Grin

Sorry10 · 24/09/2018 19:28

Love getting my hair done , hate how long it takes . It also annoys me that you book a few weeks in advance cause Saturday gets booked up and if they get behind and keep you waiting and they say sorry to keep you waiting and you say it's ok but inside you are thinking it is not ok .

Montsti · 24/09/2018 19:31

Love it! 2-2.5 hours to relax, read magazines and surf the internet with no interruptions (I have 4 young kids!) - bliss!

Galvantula · 24/09/2018 19:52

Hell no. I go as little as possible. I realised that I hate sitting staring at myself, making awkward small talk and actually sit all tense with my bum clenched. Blush

sniffysnifferson · 24/09/2018 19:55

Well i love the finished result so it wasn't a waste! The staff are genuinely lovely at the salon, but over 3.5 hours sat in the place induces bordom to the max.

It fills me with dread, especially when I have to go to a new stylist, which I will be tomorrow. I'm growing out a short crop to a Bob, too, so it's going through a very awkward phase and it's very thick and wavy.

gonnabreakmyrustycage · 24/09/2018 20:04

I don’t love it or hate it. I’ve got really thick hair (and lots of it) and if I have baby lights and balayage done, then toner, then cut and finish, it can easily take all day. I really like my hairdresser so it’s fine.

SecretWitch · 24/09/2018 20:11

Mid back length hair foiled every 8 weeks, takes just over three hours. I don’t love it but gives me a chance to read and catch up on emails.

MrsJBaptiste · 24/09/2018 20:21

I'd like it if I could go and get everything done in silence. I've got family and I've got friends so no, I can't be bothered to chat to you when neither if us are really interested in what the other is saying.
