£27.80 for two tickets??!! Am I living on another planet? What does it cost in your area?

I think you can get cheaper tickets on Monday or Tuesday - you can at Vue anyway. I think it is Monday for Vue . I rarely spend the full amount . The time I did -for the second Blade Runner I regretted it.

Soopdash · 22/09/2018 14:25

What?! Are they gold plated VIP tickets or something?

My cinema is £4 per ticket.

MyDcAreMarvel · 22/09/2018 14:25

£5.63 a ticket but through a work discount club.

MyDcAreMarvel · 22/09/2018 14:26

You can buy a days travel insurance for around £3 and get meerkat codes for a year.

Tinty · 22/09/2018 14:28

Are you in London?

I have booked the cinema this evening. £20.45 for two adults and a teen. In Devon.

Fluffyears · 22/09/2018 14:28

Get mine for £6 via a work scheme.

PenguinSaidEverything · 22/09/2018 14:28

Yep it costs about £40 to take the DC to the cinema where I live. If you wait for a bit Odeon do cheap tickets for slightly older kids films. It’s hard when the children are desperate to see a new release because all their friends have. I used to love the cinema, hardly ever go now.

TittyGolightly · 22/09/2018 14:29

I get bogof on weekends with a Times subscription.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 22/09/2018 14:29

I have odeon limitless... I’m not 100% as I set it up ages ago but I think it’s about £17 a month to go as much as you want. I love it.

PenguinSaidEverything · 22/09/2018 14:32

Actually mine is slightly less than I thought (I just checked!) - £30 for me and two children. £40 if DH comes too. Still a lot of money!

8DaysAWeek · 22/09/2018 14:34

In Glasgow and around £23 for 2 adult tickets.

Trialsmum · 22/09/2018 14:37

£5 a ticket all day every day and they’ve stated doing meerkat movies. The cinema must not be popular round here!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 22/09/2018 14:39

On a visit to Kmpulse trip to Maidstone Odeon £13.25 adult or for premier seating £14.95

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 22/09/2018 14:42

Sorry, all fingers and thumbs trying to edit!
On a visit to Kent, impulse trip to Maidstone Odeon £13.25 adult or for premier seating £14.95.
Think we could have got a discount booking online beforehand.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 22/09/2018 14:42

Going tomorrow and it’s GBP41.00 for four of us (two teen DDs) . But it’s worth it to me as it’s The Curzon and it’s like going to someone’s cosy front room, small cinema, very comfy double seats and the coffee is amazing. I wouldn’t want to pay that for Vue or Odeon.

JynxaSmoochum · 22/09/2018 14:43

We spent around £50 on our anniversary this year... no babysitter so we indulged in a family trip to McDonalds and The Incredibles. The kids' tickets were only £1 less than the adult ones. Bog standard 90s multiplex with original decor.

We only go once or twice a year for a film we will all really love. Pre DCs we'd go about monthly. The cost completely puts us off, particularly when 3 months later the DVD will be out for the cost of less than two people.

Ignoramusgiganticus · 22/09/2018 14:44

That's why we don't go very often. I resent paying that much. For a family of 4 it's a very expensive night out.

The unlimited deals are good if you go at least twice a month, but I don't want to go that often.

Bigpuglittlepug · 22/09/2018 14:44

My quote wasn't premier seating either, that costs £31.08. Daylight flippin robbery.

@Penguin - odeon do a family ticket. It’s between £5 and £7 each for 4 tickets.

Ixnayonthehombre · 22/09/2018 14:45

Vue is 4.99. 6.50 for VIP. Cheaper on Mondays. Food is extortionate though. Vue prices are cheap nationwide if you have one nearby.

PenguinSaidEverything · 22/09/2018 15:11

Looked that up too Titty - it’s £9.25 per person for a family ticket. Does it vary by region? Or by day of the week??

EscapeToTheMoon · 22/09/2018 15:13

I never go to Cineworld/Odeon. Thieves.

I wait a few weeks till it comes to my local cinema and go to home Bargains to buy sweets.

ArtemisWeatherwax · 22/09/2018 15:15

Ours is an independent one and the prices vary greatly between when it's cheaper for kids or when you are get family tickets, by popularity of film/time of showing. It seems fairly random tbh so anything from £4.50-£10 a ticket. Saturday am is £2 a ticket for relaxed kids film - usually an old one.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 22/09/2018 15:16

It’s £5 where I live. Can take your own food as well

Not sure. Just checked a couple of films on tomorrow afternoon and family tickets are £5.75-7.75 in Cardiff.
