vue here in north London is 6 pound per film

VickieCherry · 22/09/2018 15:25

Our local Odeon is £12.75 for an adult to see Crazy Rich Asians tonight, which is pretty much all I'm interested in at the moment. Way too much. Mid-Essex.

Everyman is £14.80 for the same film and time. Also too much but at least it's a nicer atmosphere.

I can't remember when I last went to the cinema. Well over a year ago.

formerbabe · 22/09/2018 15:25

Paid over £12 for an adult ticket last month Shock.

DonnaDarko · 22/09/2018 15:35

I think our local cineworld is over £10 per ticket, but we have their unlimited cards. £20 a month for unlimited movies and 25% off food and some restaurants (10% in the first year).

OlderThanAverageforMN · 22/09/2018 15:47

Guildford - Seemingly rip-off prices for everything. The prices vary, but the cheapest I can find for a standard seat off peak Monday lunchtime is £10.25..... it's £11.25 for Crazy Asians, so they also price by rating and popularity. Only a couple of quid less for kids as well. I envy those towns who have an independent cinema. Oh, and you have to pay for parking too :-(

CakeNinja · 22/09/2018 15:56

Older, I took the dc there to see the incredibles 2 a month or so ago and was quietly seething at handing over such an obscene amount of dosh only for me to fall asleep to! Plus we were too late to pick up snacks on the way so spent £40, yes that’s forty fucking pounds on snacks and drinks for the 4 of us. A bottle of water was nearly
£4 Angry

Fairyliz · 22/09/2018 16:16

Local Vue charges £4.99 any ticket any day. There is also free parking and I take my own sweets.(grin)

They changed in in the early summer and I have seen several films since then.

Bimgy85 · 22/09/2018 16:18

€11 euro a ticket in Odeon.

€5-7 each in omniplex

Dadsbigsausages · 22/09/2018 16:23

Closest to me is cineworld, £29 for two adults and a child. I sometimes remember to use kids app which knocks it down to about £18.

Showcase which is a little further away is more like £35 for the three of us.

We only take ds to Saturday morning kids club at cineworld, £3 a person but movies have usually been out at least 6-9months

PixieMiss · 22/09/2018 16:28

Cineworld by me is £10.50 for an adult. Cheaper for students, OAPs and kids. I very rarely visit!

Charm23 · 22/09/2018 16:33

£4.99 any day, any time at our local Vue cinema and was £5 or £6 for premium seat in the Odeon when we visited Blackpool earlier this week. We see loads of films now compared to when we were in Scotland and were paying £10-12 per ticket!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 22/09/2018 16:35

It's in £11.25 each (adult) at the Odeon in Birmingham but they now have leather reclining seats as standard which does make the experience much nicer.

iloveredwine · 22/09/2018 16:39

yes I try and do vue on a Monday or Groupon does 4 tickets for £20 sometimes.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 22/09/2018 16:41

There are ways to make it cheaper ( although you shouldnt have to) on Odeon there are many discounted showings.

FrustratedTeddyLamp · 22/09/2018 16:43

Ive had odeon limitless for a while and i paid upfront and its £8 a film so far

adaline · 22/09/2018 16:44

£4.99 per adult for our local cinema, any day of the week.

MaryDollNesbitt · 22/09/2018 16:48

Vue seem to be running a £4.99 ticket deal atm (not sure if regional), but I've paid nearly £10 per ticket for standard seats in the past, more if it's in 3D. We're in Scotland. We don't go very often at all. It's far too expensive. I used to take DD to the Vue Mini Mornings as the tickets were really cheap, but she's outgrown most of the stuff they show on the MM's now.

Honestly, I'd rather wait for the DVD release and pay £10 to have the bloody movie for good. I've noticed Vue running more and more offers of late. I'm guessing a lot of people are saying 'fuck that' to the ticket prices and their sales are falling as a result? Don't even get me started on their concession stand pricing - it's fucking criminal!

Dowser · 22/09/2018 16:51

Definitely do meerkat movies. Tues and wed buy 1 get one free
Also meerkat meals
I did the compare the market. Com
Got one day travel insurance for £2.56 and we’ve already saved £40 on meals

York vie cinema does all seats everyday £5

overitalready · 22/09/2018 16:52

Farnborough shouldnt be to far for you from Guildford.
Cost us £24 for 4 of us last weekend

Dowser · 22/09/2018 16:54

Really can’t understand people not taking their own snacks
I would never pay those prices for sugary, salty, fatty non foods

Jenniferturkington · 22/09/2018 16:57

It’s disgusting isn’t it? Cineworld would’ve cost nearly £50 for a family ticket plus a child (so two adults three kids) for a film last Sunday. We didn’t go.

TwistedStitch · 22/09/2018 16:59

Our local Vue and Hollywood cinemas do £4.99 all day every day so with snacks from Poundland it's a reasonable trip out now. The Odeon is still twice the price.

shutlingsloe · 22/09/2018 17:00

£3.50 a ticket on Sundays and Mondays at our local independent. £7 other days, teens £6. We try to go on Sundays!

MorningsEleven · 22/09/2018 17:04

There's an Everyman near us. Two adults, two kids £51!!!. Never set foot in it.

CakeNinja · 22/09/2018 17:17

Over, dp took the dc to the one in farnborough last weekend, he said it was a fiver a ticket and all clean with the comfy big seats. I actually go so rarely because I hate watching films and end up sleeping virtually all the way through.
Although the snacks were the same story as I’m sure they are absolutely everywhere which is why so many people bring their own.
