In Manchester it's £5 at Vue. I also downloaded the Meerkat movies app after buying travel insurance for £1.01! Have a look at money saving expert for how to do it.

A family ticket is about £24 at our local Empire cinema. I think that's ok but then we probably only go 3 or 4 times a year.

£4 at Vue. Then I use nectar points to get money off.

VUE Croydon is 7-10 quid, no mention of £4.99 deals. I wouldn't mind so much if the place had a bit of service or ceremony, but the box offices are shut even on Saturday nights, you have to buy your ticket at a machine or from a harassed snack seller, and often there's one kid having to cover the popcorn/drink counter, the ice cream counter and the pic'n'mix stand, so it takes 20 min to get in, and the suggestion to tell staff if anyone is recording is laughable - sometimes the same kid also has to tear tickets...

I think it's like theme parks and National Trust etc - rip-off once, hoping you'll buy a membership.
I did pay for a disabled CEA pass one year (take companion free) but the local Odeon said I couldn't use it for a child, or for part of a family ticket, or for Kids Club, or... Nor in the West End. Only used it once so it saved about £1!

Our Vue cinema changes over £11 a ticket , so prices with them a definitely regional. It’s the most expensive in South Wales.

chaplin1409 · 22/09/2018 18:51

We have 2 independent cinema near us so a lot cheaper £4 & £4.50 but the bigger chain cinemas are very expensive

ForalltheSaints · 22/09/2018 18:56

Usually about £10, slightly more for special events, though only one of the tickets I have for the London Film Festival cost more than £13.

Cannes is 7 euros for those screenings you can go to.

MorningsEleven · 22/09/2018 19:00

Our Vue is £5 a ticket but the pick and mix is so expensive I almost cried the one time I let the DCs have it. Six thousand four hundred and eighty fucking quid per jelly bean.

I had to use my emergency credit card.

I wanted to take DD to a new release today but it would've been £25 so I couldn't afford it. We go to the Cineworld movies for juniors instead, matinee performances so I'm restricted to when we go but it's about £5.50 for both of us. They aren't new releases though. Going with DH is a once a year treat!

CustardOmlet · 22/09/2018 21:21

For years our Vue was £11+ per ticket, but it’s suddenly dropped to £4 for all showings except specials. That’s Leicester.

Santaclarita · 22/09/2018 21:42

£5 a ticket here. We go on a Tuesday or Wednesday too for meerkat so only pay £5.

findingmywaytoday · 22/09/2018 21:52

£38 for 2 tickets. I'm in central London though.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/09/2018 22:07

We go to a local artsy one. It's £10.50 for an adult ticket, but we can get 2 for 1 on some days of the week.

VeryFoolishFay · 22/09/2018 22:23

I think I might win the prize; £3.50 for an adult weekday ticket at the refurbished Plaza in Dorchester.
