Just ... hello really.

I consider myself a bit of an oldie but there might be people still here who were posting from the very start (circa 2000/01 ish?).

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to go back 10-12 years on Mumsnet. Would it look significantly different? I remember lots of scandals about the changing of the appearance of the site. I guess there would be fewer adverts, sliders and pop-ups?

I loved Bonsoir/Bobochic - imagine her as such a soignee and elegant woman. Haven’t seen her post for a long time though.

I joined about 2000 but under different names but great to see so many old names on this thread like a warm cardigan giving a hug on a chilly evening

2006, Mostly in S&B, was on a long running thread and have made some marvellous friends because of it.

I got some of the best advice of my life from Haitch, I still think of it often

I think the main difference between now and then is the humour, there were some incredibly witty posters who would make me cry with laughter.

COD was a pompous so and so but she was nice beneath it all

Ive just remembered that I had to open a new account - I think there's been a hack or threat of a hack. Bummer. I really can't remember my user name pre 2012.

I can see it in my mind's eye as clear as if it was right in front of me chartreuse. Such a gorgeous house.

I joined in 2005 or 6 I think. I remember many often names mentioned upthread eg cod, riven, otter and the furore when cod and others flounced. I have a different name now. Remember the original Christmas gift thread which was lovely and when mumsnet took it over. As both a giver and a recipient it summed up the heart of mumsnet for me. The cancer ( tamoxifen) thread in particular git me through a hellish time. It doesn't feel quite the same any more but I still pop on and am in an active phase now. It's still needed

2006 here. From memory about april with a question about what side should you not sleep on when pregnant lol. Had to get up and fire up the pc in the spare room!!!

Oh this takes me back. Glad to hear Pagwatch is still around. I tended to lurk but you did notice amusing poster’s names. What happened to HullyGully and Bupcakes?

LeQueen was banned (finally) quite recently I think.

I don’t think I joined I cannot remember but I’ve been reading onand off for years. I remember many of the names on here too, the stories are more vague, as I don’t think I followed many of them through. I was more of a browser, too scared to comment

I've been here since at least 2005. I was pregnant with dc3 then. Have had some really good support but also some awful posts. Come on here less but given my health situation just reading a few posts and posting on still less is all I can do. I start less and never about personal stuff much.

I joined in 2008, so a relative newbie.

I was in a hotel room in Addis Ababa and felt very lonely as only found out I was pregnant with DC1 hours before I flew out 2 weeks previously (work trip). MN was an immediate source of comfort.

It was around the time of Moldiegate. Then I found the Fanjo Warriors (April 2009 baby thread) and that was that.

I've had (and seen others have) so much support over the years - I bloody love Mumsnet.

I agree with you so much! Why do so many threads degenerate into angry slanging matches between 2 or 3 MNers? (Everyone else just slinks off once the ranters start).
It used to be more anodyne, I suppose, but a lot less scarey!

When I joined I was looking for advice on dummies and potty training. Those babes are now both at uni! :o It was 18 years ago! 2000.

I've rarely posted loads, but sometimes dip my toe back in for a while.
