Taking a break from work...how cool is 'Kashuo Ishiguro' especially with 'Sir' Prefix Grin

Always thought 'Isambard Kingdom Brunel' was quite something. Almost as if there will be no room big enough to fit his entire persona. Why hasn't this name ever appeared in the baby names section, they're always looking for something unique Wink

What other names do you know that just make you sit back and think WOW! (in a good way not in a 'Chardonaye' kind of way ifyswim).

I get Boutros Boutros-Ghali stuck in my head too! Absolutely no idea why.
Isn't there a news reader called Tulip Asunder? (I've definitely spelt that wrong)
I've always liked the sound of her name.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 19/09/2018 21:11

I love the names Padme and Lakshmi. Not sure if the first one is a real name or just from Star Wars!

And I agree, Isambard Kingdom Brunel is an AMAZING name.

CauliflowerBalti · 19/09/2018 21:13

Jameela Jamil has a great name.

Benedict Cumberbatch - splendid.

Cormorant Swift - not real, but whatever.

January Jones - OMG amazing.

Tuppence Middleton - ditto

Honeysuckle Weeks - see also

I like to say it over and over.

Also, there was a BBC southeast newsreader (I think) whose name sounded like part of the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody. I will have to try to remember who he was!

I love this thread. It's a great idea and I love that most of the suggestions are names that I have always liked hearing, but didn't know that I liked hearing them, until this thread pointed it out. If you know what I mean Grin

I give you another few

Zainab Badawi

Dominic Raab is a good name too.

Hermione Granger (I know she's not real).

Actually, what about Holliday Granger! She is real although I think it's a stage name.

I know a lady called Bee Devine - cracks me up every time. She’s Croatian. It sounds like a porn star name but she is wonderful; elegant, effortlessly cool and somehow manages to pull it off and make it suit her...

DappledThings · 19/09/2018 21:41

SettledTraveller Me too! She started on local TV in the West Midlands so I've known her name for years and years. My brother and I (both late 30s!) still do the Whigfield thing.

goforkyourself · 19/09/2018 21:45

Years ago I had an email enquiry from a couple named Roxanne and Barnaby (business related) Nothing came of it but I always thought they sounded like the coolest couple ever 😁 Kind of ya but not too pretentious, the sort of people you could down shots with all night 😄

MadamesNet · 19/09/2018 21:46

Soorjo Alexander William Langobard Oliphant Chuckerbutty was an English composer and organist, usually just known as Oliphant Chuckerbutty.

Also the German composer Samuel Scheidt...

TheNavigator · 19/09/2018 21:52

And of course, Galileo Galilei had an amazing name - cool name, clever guy.
I didn't realise Fenella Fudge had bagged her cool name by marrying Mr Fudge - a great reason to marry, I don't think I could have resisted Mr Fudges proposal.
