Hi,

Talking to DP tonight over tea (from our Gousto box) about convenience and how you can have almost anything delivered to you these days.

I just love getting things through the post, especially when it's a bit quirky or luxury. Can anyone recommend any subscriptions I can try. And similarly, memberships. We had merlin passes and loved them last year but we are having a break from that, so any recommendations for similar family things would be welcome!

We've tried Gousto, Hellofresh, Graze, Bloom and Wild (love!), Snaffling Pig and Simply Cook.

You’re welcome! Hope he likes it.

Pink parcel - it’s - period box so you choose what kind of pads/tampons you want and you get a little box of stuff too.
Always includes something sweet, some sort of tea/coffee and make-up/skincare.
And if you find you have too much stuff, they include an envelope to donate any unwanted sanpro.

I found Degustabox very hit and miss. They sent a super healthy box out one and I was disgusted Grin Aloe Vera drinks, protein balls etc. Ugh. I cancelled it.

I have the National Geographic for the pictures.

I also sacked off Birchbox after several disappointing boxes in a row. Included a primer that smelled of stale perfumed make up. You know the scent, you will have smelt it on ladies who haven't replaced their make up in decades.... Not impressed.

My parents get Laithwaites wine and it works out about £7 a bottle, even with offers. I can’t see the point to be honest when supermarkets sell some good wines cheaper.

Freeprints - it's a phone app that gives you free photos and photobooks each month you just pay postage. The quality is good and better than the Snapfish app (also free)

TheBestestCatinTheLand · 29/09/2018 16:01

I have a picture postcard app called TouchNote. When my friends on Facebook post a lovely photo I will send it to them as a little surprise through the post.

Buddy box from blurt it out. It's a little box of treats to help combat little anxieties. It's amazing! Was he month there's a little box of self care ❤️ so sometimes it's socks, sleep spray, tea ad chocolate sometimes there's a book on self care or mindfulness, chocolate and affirmation cards I love it www.blurtitout.org/buddybox/

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 29/09/2018 16:25

Reading in Heels. It's only £10 a month. You get a book specially chosen for you plus tea bags , coffee bags, posh chocs or biscuits and usually a nice skincare product. It's a treat and so cheap for what you get.

Birchbox
Glossy box (my absolute fave and will never cancel as the rewards are so generous.)
Betty box for dd.
Pink parcel for me. (Got a stunning English Laundry perfume this month worth over double the cost of the subscription)
I did try out Just Fab but heard about them being impossible to cancel so set up an account through a pay as you go credit card. When they tried that shit on me I just stopped funding the card. Got some gorgeous knee high suede boots for £9.

CrazyCatLady13 · 29/09/2018 20:15

I get my purrfect gift box, can include cat treats or just human treats. And a percentage goes to cat charities. Really good quality products every month.

Flatwhite32 · 29/09/2018 20:22

I get Gousto boxes. I love the meals and the variety. I also bulk them out a bit sometimes (e.g. add extra pasta in the pasta dishes, add extra veg, add lentils to mince so it goes further etc) so I can have some for lunch the next day. My DD is nearly 10 weeks old, and they have been great and have encouraged me to keep cooking! One of DH's favourite meals is a Gousto one!

I love all these suggestions. Was worried when I started this thread because I got accused of being a journalist Confused haha.

@Flatwhite32 we are waiting for our next Gousto box. And I've got so used to them that I forgot to get anything out for tea last night. So ended up spending 27 quid on a takeaway. All I could think was, that's a full Gousto box Grin

Loving reading about all of these, and I've ordered the Weekly Junior for my DC.

Have any of you tried Lookerio? I really want to try it, but worry I'd be terrible at doing any returns.
