Hi,

Talking to DP tonight over tea (from our Gousto box) about convenience and how you can have almost anything delivered to you these days.

I just love getting things through the post, especially when it's a bit quirky or luxury. Can anyone recommend any subscriptions I can try. And similarly, memberships. We had merlin passes and loved them last year but we are having a break from that, so any recommendations for similar family things would be welcome!

We've tried Gousto, Hellofresh, Graze, Bloom and Wild (love!), Snaffling Pig and Simply Cook.

Readly and Spotify.

I want to do MINTD but can't afford it Sad Considering Beauty Pie too

ihatethecold · 19/09/2018 07:43

We only have cornerstone razors delivered on a subscription.
I’m envious of all your lovely ones arriving every month.

Used to do graze but they were not getting eaten.

BikeRunSki · 19/09/2018 07:46

DS (10) gets Aquila magazine and DD (6) gets Whizz Pop Bang.

DH and I have Graze subscriptions. We both have jobs that take us out and about to different places all the time, and Graze helps us not spend load of cash on junk from service stations.

I have given Bloom and Wild subscriptions, and used them for several one offs.

Gave DBro an olive subscription last year, I forget the name of the company, but I found them on NOTHS. He’s had a pork pie servicd in the past too.

We had Able and Cole, but the half the fruit and veg was rotten when it was delivered, every single week.

BikeRunSki · 19/09/2018 07:47

DH gets razors too - Harry’s?

TigerDroveAgain · 19/09/2018 07:47

Bloomon - lovely flowers every fortnight
Hello Fresh - DH had taken over cooking and this works for him (although I choose the recipes!)
Birchbox - good value and nice to try different things

DancingForTheDog · 19/09/2018 07:49

Signed up to Laithwaites wine club for a while, but like most of these things it's just a really expensive way of buying stuff you can get much cheaper elsewhere.

Rocknroller1234 · 19/09/2018 07:50

Small print books - my DC get a subscription for birthdays / Christmas and they get a lovely and thoughtfully chosen book in the post in a monthly basis. It’s run by a lovely woman and my DC are excited to get their gift every month. They do them I think from birth to 7. Can highly recommend!

BillyAndTheSillies · 19/09/2018 08:02

I switch up between Glossybox and Birchbox but am overflowing with sample size products so will cancel those.

We get Freddie's Flowers fortnightly, extremely similar to Bloom & Wild but had a cheaper introductory offer. The flowers are beautiful and they make me smile. They seem to be much bigger bunches as well given the size of the box.

Really loved getting Gousto, we cancelled that because delivery went to DH's office as he drives home and not being able to choose a delivery time meant sometimes DH was sat waiting for it to arrive until 7pm and then it wouldn't turn up. It's a shame but we have a few ring binders of their menus which we still use.

turkeyboots · 19/09/2018 08:13

I really like When In Rome wine box deliveries. They do a monthly subscription service and wines are great.

prampushingdownthehighst · 19/09/2018 08:17

Have used hello fresh for quite a while now...I'm not sure about trying gusto?
Some of these sound fantastic!

Rocknroller1234 · 19/09/2018 08:27

Oh and I also get mindful chef which is along the same lines of gusto etc as well as a Bkd subscription with a monthly cooking activity for the DC.

gaggiagirl · 19/09/2018 09:41

Gousto. Love it. Used them for over a year but I have paused my subscription because there's nothing I fancy on the menu lately.

Amazon prime. Couldn't be without it.

I've tried lots and cancelled after the initial offer though.

Starlight345 · 19/09/2018 09:47

I did touch an box . Over priced.
Hello Fresh too spicy for family
Graze lived but again can do cheaper myself.

gaggiagirl · 19/09/2018 09:57

The Spicery looks good! Has anyone got a referral discount code they would like to pm me?

GoodHeavensNoImAChicken · 19/09/2018 10:05

I’m hooked on a Which magazine subscription ...shows how sad my life is but it’s so interesting for cars, household items etc

Hello fresh too expensive and all that packaging was terrible

The week is great. And wouldn’t be without amazon prime

Sparklyfee · 19/09/2018 10:07

Ah yes, I have amazon prime. Definitely worth the money.

Toucan box, BKD and the olives subscription are going on my list!

I'd love pork pies and cheese too Grin

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 19/09/2018 10:10

The Fine Cheese company monthky cheese subscription.
Cocoa Runners craft chocolate

Sparklyfee · 19/09/2018 10:13

I need to try the cheese one as well! I've decided that's what I'm asking for for Christmas.

Agree with PP who said it's usually things you could just get cheaper elsewhere but I just love getting them all nicely wrapped through the post!

My next Gousto box isn't until Sunday so it's normal cooking until then

Satsumaeater · 19/09/2018 10:26

I've had beauty box subscriptions in the past and have just subscribed to LoveLula for three months.

I buy from Bloom & Wild but as one-off purchases.

Satsumaeater · 19/09/2018 10:27

Oh and I have subscriptions and memberships for

Which?

Athletics Weekly

National Trust

Historic Scotland

Woodland Trust

JingsMahBucket · 19/09/2018 11:35

@BikeRunSki that's a pity. I really loved my Abel & Cole veg or recipe boxes when I used to get them. I always told others it was like "Food Christmas!" You order stuff and a box full of tasty food shows up on your door step like magic.

JingsMahBucket · 19/09/2018 11:41

@gaggiagirl I just PMed you a 10% discount code for The Spicery.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 19/09/2018 12:08

We like Degustabox which is between 10 and 15 food and drink items a month (one box) and it's new products and/or new ranges from a brand you recognise, or a new flavour. We have discovered some food and drinks that are now family favourites and it's exciting opening the box and seeing what's inside. The ones from now on tend to be the most exciting as we are getting towards Christmas!

The value is always higher than the monthly cost, but the link I've put above is a referral link which will get you £5 off your first box (and it's a one month rolling contract so can stop whenever)

Sparklyfee · 19/09/2018 12:18

@TellMeItsNotTrue

Thanks. I'll use your link to order a degustabox. Sounds good Smile

@prampushingdownthehighst

I would definitely try Gousto if I were you. You can pause your hello fresh subscription and sign up to Gousto with a voucher. They are similar but more choice with the recipes on Gousto
