Hi,

Talking to DP tonight over tea (from our Gousto box) about convenience and how you can have almost anything delivered to you these days.

I just love getting things through the post, especially when it's a bit quirky or luxury. Can anyone recommend any subscriptions I can try. And similarly, memberships. We had merlin passes and loved them last year but we are having a break from that, so any recommendations for similar family things would be welcome!

We've tried Gousto, Hellofresh, Graze, Bloom and Wild (love!), Snaffling Pig and Simply Cook.

Thank you @sparklyfee@ I will have a look for a code.
I only have it every third week as it ties in with my busy week at work and saves shopping etc. and it's always nice to try different recipes and flavours.

Sparklyfee · 19/09/2018 14:36

I went through TopCashback and got 8.40 cash back and it automatically added 50% off first two boxes. Worth a look Grin

Readily looks good. If anyone wants to pm me a referral code that'd be appreciated

TeenTimesTwo · 19/09/2018 15:47

Baked-In cake making boxes. Pre weighed and bagged ingredients, plus recipe card, you only need the fresh ones. All the fun of baking without the hassle of the shopping and weighing.

I love my Gin craft box. Every 3 months, a gorgeous gin (last one worth £60, with new tonics and snacks.

pumkinspicetime · 19/09/2018 19:12

I have got my dd a pusheen box, they arrive quarterly. I have a makeup box but that really needs canceling I am overwhelmed with eye shadow. They are fun though.

LaGruffaloGrumble · 19/09/2018 19:16

I got the Spicery Friday Night Curry subscription for DH for Christmas and it was epic. Every month for a year we had a couple of beers and cooked together and the stuff was delicious, and we just had a blast.

I don’t know if they still do but they used to sell through Not On The High Street so I was able to get a black friday Quidco thing through that that knocked about £15 off the price.

Really recommended.

SecretWitch · 19/09/2018 19:22

My dd and I have had birch box, Ipsy and Glossy Box. We love getting new products to try in the mail. Gives us a little something to look forward to each month.

annoyedofnorwich · 19/09/2018 19:25

Riverford recipe boxes and craft gin. Must try the cheese one!

cortex10 · 19/09/2018 19:36

I am signed up to Naked Wines https://www.nakedwines.com/full_site. Generally save up my 'credits' for their Christmas offer case

3in4years · 19/09/2018 20:22

I was once given a gift subscription for The Spicery. Worst gift ever! I had 2 small children and felt under pressure to cook these complex meals. They just send you spices and recipes. I have a cupboard full of spices and can look up recipes on the internet. Totally didn't get it.

Sparklyfee · 27/09/2018 13:48

Hmm, my degustabox has arrived. Not overly excited about the contents. Might cancel and try the olive subscription! Still happy with Gousto though

We had toucan boxes and weekend boxes for the children while we had codes for them but cancelled them when we ran out. Weekend boxes were better than toucan boxes, more activities in them.

Eldest child had First News for a while which he liked a lot.

DH used to have Loot Crates but they're v expensive.

I'm thinking of trying one of the razor ones - does anyone have any recommendations? Or codes?

kitbabingley · 27/09/2018 14:19

@pumkinspicetime I LOVE Pusheen, was going to ask DH for a subscription for my Xmas present until I saw how much! Yikes.

Sparklyfee · 27/09/2018 14:23

I'll look at the weekend boxes. I'm looking at borough olives. Looks good but no codes I can find

pumkinspicetime · 27/09/2018 15:02

kit'I am in the states and suspect they may be a bit cheaper here.

TellMeItsNotTrue · 27/09/2018 15:04

@Sparklyfee Oh no Sad I'm sorry, the November and December ones are usually nice with Christmas treats, if anyone else wants to try maybe best waiting until then?

@kitbabingley Cornerstone Men's razor subscription, you get £10 off first order with this link
TBH I got a one off box with the discount, expecting that to be it, but about 2 years later we still use them

Sparklyfee · 27/09/2018 15:36

@TellMeItsNotTrue having said that DP and the kids will be happy with it and I will order a Christmas one to see what's in that. I should add that I don't like chocolate so a fair bit of it is wasted on me anyway and I knew it would have chocolate of some description in! Maybe I'm being a bit harsh because it was good value for money Grin

FFS, or Friction Free Shaving to use their full name ;)

Razors in the post. You get a nice metal handle with your first box and 4 blades so that you can change them weekly. They're 6 blade heads too, so way better than most of the other women's razors out there.

You can add shaving gels and scrubs to your box too, but that ups the price. I pay £9 a month I think :)

elfofftheshelf · 27/09/2018 15:55

Freddie Flowers. I look forward to my Thursday delivery

Ifonlyiweretaller · 27/09/2018 16:33

Some great present ideas on this thread, thanks all.
Mine have already been mentioned: Audible, Netflix, Spotify and Amazon prime.

Sparklyfee · 27/09/2018 19:10

@TellMeItsNotTrue

I take it all back. DH loved it and wants to carry on getting them! Maybe just too many chocolate items for me this month!

Inspired by this thread, I got my dad a 6-month The Spicery subscription for his birthday. He was delighted and is very excited about getting started!

FairyPenguin · 29/09/2018 07:32

Beerbods is DH’s favourite present I’ve ever bought him, I think, and he’s continued the subscription ever since.

Willoughby Book Club was a great present last Christmas- went down well with various family members. Customer service was excellent too. If you’ve already read the book, they send you another for free.

My children love The Week Junior. Arrives every Friday and makes great weekend reading.

Also Riverford recipe boxes (or their normal veg boxes) are great. Again, fantastic customer service.

Sparklyfee · 29/09/2018 10:17

I've just looked at beerbods. That's going on his Christmas list! Thanks
