4th attempt tomorrow and just been out for a last run with DH and aqua plained scared the hell out of me! I'm not doubting my ability and just thinking shall I give up! It's costing me a fortune in tests and lessons and I'm stressing over it once again! Worst part is I can drive but on a test you would think Iv never even seen a car never mind drive one!

Anyone got any tips or basically a kick up the back side for me ??

Don’t cancel.

Eat a banana an hour before.

Forget it is a test, just a lesson with a new instructor who wants to see where you are at.

Oh, feel free to talk to your examiner and explain your thought processes - they don’t mind.

Syncope · 18/09/2018 21:49

You can do it! I know the feeling well, I failed my second attempt last week, but you can do it.

Bubblysqueak · 18/09/2018 21:55

Can you grab some rescue remedy before the test? Even if acts as a placebo it could be worth it.

Do it. I passed on my fifth test. It was the only one I was absolutely certain I had failed by the time I finished...

Good luck!!!!

summerlovingliz · 18/09/2018 21:59

Ohh yes.. rescue remedy! I passed on my fourth test.. all the best people do 🤣 good luck

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 18/09/2018 22:01

Some yoga breathing- deep breathing, just before is calming. I found it so anyway. Go for it! Lots of people do several tests and are competent drivers.

Fstar · 18/09/2018 22:01

No, go for it, i passed on my fourth and you can too

tigercub50 · 18/09/2018 22:02

Another vote for Rescue Remedy. And I took 7 years & 5 tests but was determined to pass. It’s the best feeling!

SmokeAndBone · 18/09/2018 22:04

Don't give up now, you will waste all that effort (not to mention money!) that you've invested so far.
Set yourself up to succeed - visualise that Pass Certificate with your name on.
Best of luck. You can do it.

NooNooHead · 18/09/2018 22:05

I passed on my 6th time (technically 5th time as one of them I forgot my counterpart photo for the licence), so yes - you should do it! I remember my driving instructor hugged me when I passed as he was so pleased (and probably bloody relieved!) that I passed! 😂🙄

duvetfan · 18/09/2018 22:06

I hated driving and went into my 4th test with the 'even if I fail, I'm never doing this again' attitude. I passed... Good luck.

MinecraftHolmes · 18/09/2018 22:10

You won’t get your money back if you cancel this close, just go for it!

Take your time so you have plenty of time to react. Good luck!

tessiegirl · 18/09/2018 22:11

I also passed on my fourth time...do it!

tiredmummyshark · 18/09/2018 22:13

Thanks everyone I'm going to go for it , I think I'm just frustrated, no time for rescue remedy unfortunately as I'm going straight from work, I don't think it's so much nerves more of mind blanks, I will just take my time and hope for the best I think

ALemonyPea · 18/09/2018 22:16

I passed fourth time, all the best drivers do. Have a banana before you set off, and good luck

More2Fly · 18/09/2018 22:17

Don't cancel- i passed on my 6th test! Blush
Just go for it and think of it like you've nothing to lose (except a few quid)

TheSageofOnions · 18/09/2018 23:25

Aquaplaining scares the hell out of everyone!

Amyxo123 · 19/09/2018 00:13

Good luck! You can do it xo

VimFuego101 · 19/09/2018 00:18

I passed on my fourth time too.

Sparklyfee · 19/09/2018 00:39

How did it go?

NightOwlHoney · 19/09/2018 00:55

All the best people pass on their 4th attempt Wink. You've got this! 🍀

Chickenwings85 · 19/09/2018 00:59

Don't cancel!! You've come this far and spent so much already, you would be daft to cancel now.
On the test I finally passed on after many attempts, I went in with a Don't care if I pass or not attitude. I had slight nerves but I honestly didn't care anymore and was used to hearing the usual unfortunately you've not passed this time etc...
I was more chilled and couldn't give a shit if I passed or not this time around because what's the worst that will happen if I don't pass? Nothing different to than before.
Good luck OP.

MrsMoastyToasty · 19/09/2018 01:01

Use life skills you already have (eg if you are into acting then take on the role of the driver or if you are good at dancing then think of the gear changes/clutch control as dance moves).

OlennasWimple · 19/09/2018 01:20

Hopefully you have already passed your test by the time you read this

If not...have you thought about just driving an automatic? They are much, much easier than a manual, and much, much better than they used to be

Easynow · 19/09/2018 01:22

Do not give up!
