I live by the coast and the wind is ferocious tonight, I can hear the sea getting thrown around something chronic (it woke me up).

I'm half tempted to go down and take a look

Every bloody night - when will insomnia end? Wouldn't be so bad if I could get up and do something but can't wake up MrCat so either on mumsnet or reading - can't even make a cup of tea.

What a strange story. And a bit of a drip feed. In normal circumstances you wouldn’t go round to a neighbour you barely knew just because of a storm unless serious damage had occurred. Seems the op has a bit of a thing for her neighbour and wanted ‘rescuing’ by him (or something). Most neighbours don’t try to hold your hand so seems he has a thing don’t her too. Still a strange story though. Anyway, the wind woke me up a couple of hours ago (I didn’t go round to the neighbours).

MrsCatE I haven’t been nasty ar sll. I am genuinely astonished at this story. And I know about the pet how? I’m sorry that op has lost a pet obviously but I’m not sure why that would require her to wake a neighbour up.

By the way the neighbour was first asleep, then he wasn’t. First he was pleased to see her. Then he was uncomfortable. First he was behind the door, then behind the desk. First she annoys him, then he’s trying to hold her hand. It’s all very...weird as I say.
