It looks like Madam has overshot the runway.

Jack is of the higher moral ground. It'd take more than a few truthful, possibly gloaty tweets to change that. One doesn't have to particularly lie Jack or even to approve of her recent posts to see that some intemperate and ill chosen language isn't in the same ball park as multiple deliberate defamation.

Cobrider · 17/09/2018 20:16

lolaflore yes, I have behaved differently in a similar ish situation. It didn’t make me feel great and I didn’t tell anyone about it.
Not liking Katie Hopkins (which I don’t) doesn’t mean that I think that Jack is behaving in a great way. I think she is quite manipulative actually and this is not something to be floated over, at least for the children caught in the middle of this.
I agree with the people who responded about the GDPR responsibility on Twitter.
I get that most of you don’t agree with me, but this is all really sad.

Cobrider · 17/09/2018 20:16

*gloated

AssignedNorthernAtBirth · 17/09/2018 20:22

It's perfectly possible to think Jack isn't behaving in a great way, whilst also understanding the large moral gulf between somewhat gloatily giving details of a document that was already being reported on anyway, and several instances of defamation.

AJPTaylor · 17/09/2018 20:30

Nasty mean girl.

lolaflores · 17/09/2018 20:36

Well done you Cobrider. In a world full of awfulness you have risen above it all. That's wonderful.
However, others are more flawed.

KH is beyond flawed and has rightly been given a sanction for her endless nasty behaviour alongside which JM looks like a saint

OP posts:
Cobrider · 17/09/2018 20:37

Well I will take that in the spirit that I am
sure was meant.

lolaflores · 17/09/2018 20:52

I won't be wringing my hands about KH. Any suffering she is experiencing is self inflicted and JM is not a fiend for being a little smug.

What Jack Monroe said about Cameron was 100% justified. It really was appalling how he exploited his son in the last but one election.

Gersemi · 17/09/2018 22:25

I thought that Jack was meant to be of the higher moral ground though? Don’t deny that she is enjoying it, because she is. Posting about the IVA, photos of humble pie recipes?

Why shouldn't she enjoy it? As I've said before, thousands of people are, why shouldn't she also? Particularly given that she was the direct target of a seriously offensive untruth which KH refused to apologise for.

*I am no fan of Katie Hopkins but in my opinion, Jack is not a lot better. There was no need to post about the IVA other than schadenfreude.8

How the hell does a bit of schadenfreude come even close to what KH did to JM, let alone to what she has been doing to all sorts of vulnerable people over the years?

Cobrider · 17/09/2018 22:29

Who is saying it does? Why twist what I have posted to suit your agenda?

lolaflores · 17/09/2018 22:40

Cobrider. You are wailing about the sadness of the situation which has been created by one person alone and it wasn't JM. There is no agenda here that I can find see beyond the fact you are determined to make JMs reaction to KHs well deserved public humiliation seem in poor taste.
It isn't it's quite restrained really.

OP posts:
Cobrider · 17/09/2018 22:55

I’m sorry that you find the need to use hysterical words such as ‘wailing’ to attack anyone who doesn’t join in your enjoyment of the situation. Sorry for you generally in fact I feel this is your idea of entertainment.

Cobrider · 17/09/2018 22:56

And yes I am not alone in finding the backslapping about her children being affected seem in bad taste.
On you go..

lolaflores · 17/09/2018 22:59

Cobrider..you ok hun?

OP posts:
Gersemi · 17/09/2018 23:07

The GDPR point is a non-starter. Debtors with IVAs are listed on the Personal Insolvency Register, which is open to the public.

Gersemi · 17/09/2018 23:10

Where has anyone been backslapping about KH's children being affected? So far as I can see everyone is sorry that they are inevitably dragged into all this.

Gersemi · 17/09/2018 23:11

Who is saying it does?

Who is saying what does, Cobrider?

StrangeLookingParasite · 17/09/2018 23:56

I think it's a classic case of 'actions, meet consequences'.

The objections being raised look like plain old sanctimony to me.

youlooklikeaclown · 18/09/2018 01:41

Gaa-ahhhh - I find Hopkins to be deeply, deeply punchable…. Grab a microscope folks whilst I play my teeny tiny violin!

Cakemonger · 18/09/2018 04:42

I just find the whole thing depressing tbh. I don't get any pleasure from the news about KH. She is a seriously **ed up individual who causes pain and suffering to others. I don't care in the slightest if she suffers (though I feel sorry for her children). But, I still find it sad and disturbing that someone can get to the point they make a living like that. Depressed that certain news outlets promote her to further their hateful agendas.

Incidentally, I have a mental health condition and don't get offended at all when people say 'she has mental health problems'. Maybe I should.

Monty27 · 18/09/2018 05:27

I can't believe I spent so long reading this thread as I have ignored the press coverage.
Just tell her where she can find a food bank. Asshole Angry

Katie Hopkins is horrid and needs taking down a few pegs.
Love Jack Monroe. Not sure celebrating someone's bankruptcy is great though.
