Unfair to say Jack is creating a storm when Katie does this for a living every day.
There is also a interview with Jack where she offered Katie to have dinner with her and not pay her the money but Katie responded with a nasty column about her in the newspaper the next day so Jack rescinded the offer.
Jack has given her 2 chances to back down and Katie has done this to herself

Can you imagine if the tables were turned and Katie won the libel case and whether she would be so generous to Jack and not posting every minute about how she is right?

I think that is how she got to see it, she wasn't paid until the IVA. I'm no expert but I think the reasoning is that JM as an individual should not be penalised but the law firms can wait to be paid, or paid off slowly.

There is indeed a Go Fund Me page, however if you read the small print, all the cash raised will actually be donated to the Trussell Trust in KH's name. How that must stick in her craw, (yes, they were the subject of one of her vicious and ill-informed rants).

(b) What KH did to Jack Monroe.
I do not need to know why KH - clearly some information has penetrated the rock I must live under.

Personally, Jack Monroe comes across a bit self satisfied. If I am being brutally honest, she makes me feel inadequate in many ways. I sure she hasn't set out to do that on purpose yet I see her doing all the correct stuff and it makes me feel like i haven't tried hard enough.
However, she doesn't annoy me enough to make the sort of come t KH made which was the suggestion she defaced war memorials

Not quite. KH suggested Monroe supported defacing war memorials, around the time some dickcheese actually did on a left wing protest. It was actually Laurie Penny who said that and KH had mixed them up. Jack understandably took offence, particularly being from a military family that's obviously going to be upsetting. KH on learning of her error wouldn't apologise or correct herself.

It's all the more stupid because she could've got away with a very snide, obnoxious non-apology. Something like ok I accept that wasn't you and I retract but you're still a cunt and I hate left wingers would've probably been enough.

I think as you say, people are losing sight of how absolutely horrible the thing that KH said about her was. To be accused of supporting the defacement of a war memorial, something that many people find to be incredibly important and verging on the sacred, well I'd be very upset. And I'm not even from a military family.

I would like to know

I like Jack very much. I wonder of some of the dislike on this website stems from Jack's position on trans issues.

It was a one off but does that make it ok? I liked Jack and followed her story for a while but not after that. Wish they could both get ‘normal’ jobs and fad away from the headlines.

Jack's comments there were accurate, as that is exactly what DC was doing, though I don't care for the way in which she described it. There was an excellent thread on here at the time about it, iirc. But even if you disagree with that and think it's morally equivalent to eg KH's cockroaches remark, she doesn't actually invent falsehoods about people, as KH has on a number of occasions. So yes, Jack is better.

I am no fan of Katie Hopkins but in my opinion, Jack is not a lot better. There was no need to post about the IVA other than schadenfreude.

KH has created a massive open goal and I think even the most humble of people would find it hard to resist sticking a few in.

JM has put up with quote a bit of shit from various angles perhaps she is taking a bit too much pleasure out of it but would any of us behave differently?
