I’m surprised that she doesn’t have insurance to cover these kinds of unfortunate events. Or maybe you can’t get professional indemnity cover for her....ahem...line of work.

KH had every opportunity to avoid it but the thing she has always lacked from day 1 is a grain of humility. Who knows if this experience will instill some? I'm sceptical.

MrsTerryPratchett, I think its great that Charloais has come out to share her feelings about KH. Its good to identify the people who read her columns, listen to her on the radio and think she is an all round good egg who is working hard to keep this country a ruddy fantastic place to live for one and all.
It makes it easier to avoid them in future and ignore to boot.

I can't stand either of them. I'm no fan of Katie Hopkins but I'm no fan of Jack Monroe either. They're both pretentious and full of themselves.

KH deserves all the misfortune and bad luck that's coming to her. She's bloody well earned it. If her kids suffer - which, sadly, they probably will - then it will be her fault and hers alone. I pity the children with a frothing racist moron like that for a parent.

She has an awful long term health condition which may effect her judgement and the way she processes ideas.

A lot of us have long term health conditions and manage not to be scum. Admittedly hers is worse than mine, but when I became seriously ill seven years ago and was left with problems that will be with me for the rest of my life it made me a kinder and more patient person and far more understanding of other people's foibles.

The people I refuse to feel sorry for are those who are deliberately and continuously unkind and vicious to others. I would not wish what has happened to Hopkins on her, but when it comes to sympathy, the field in which my fucks grow is a barren place. She has caused pain and suffering to many, many people and now she will have the smallest of notions of how it feels. I don't doubt she will manage a comeback monetarily, I just hope that the comeback doesn't involve her getting any more publicity. I hope the media will waste no more space on her. This should be it as far as we know about her. There's enough hate in the world, one less vicious hatemonger can be nothing but a very good thing.

Not very intelligent is she. How she has spoken about people though and the fact she thinks she's it, it's sort of happy days to hear of her downfall. They say what goes round, comes round.
I always felt sorry for her kids, but more so now.

It’s not kind or woke to blame every human negative characteristic on mental illness.

It’s actually insulting to the multitude of people who have a mental illness yet manage to get through their daily lives without being cruel, prejudiced against others, and bullying those on a national platform, particularly those weaker and more vulnerable than oneself!

I do not feel sorry for this woman, and I do not think excusing her behaviour and making her somehow not culpable for her own strongly held views is at all an appropriate reaction here.

In fact I have met two of her children and they were perfectly polite and nice kids, I felt very sorry for them having a mother who behaves the way that she does.
