What are the chances anyone could identify this song?

I have an ear worm and would love to look up the song on Spotify but I can't place it.

I think it's a Mexican song. Probably 20-30 + years old. It's sung in Spanish. I don't remember the words. It's got something like bell trilling or a cow bell being played in it. The rythm is upbeat and the words go to the rythm of da da da da da... da da da ... da da da da da... da da da.

Anyone have any ideas?

The only one that comes to mind is Gipsy Kings Bamboleo lol

TheWoollybacksWife · 11/09/2018 20:34

Guantanamera? It's Cuban though, not Mexican.

dudsville · 11/09/2018 20:34

I just tried that, thanks Helga, reminded me that I like the gypsy kings, but is not the song!

La Bamba?

dudsville · 11/09/2018 20:36

That's also nice woolybacks and I've saved it to my list. But it's not the song.

Thanks sisters, this song I'm thinking of doesn't have 50's vibe.

My oh is looking at me oddly as I keep playing tracks.

This is an impossibletask isn't it!

Oh does it shout something like samba! Dejona! at the end of the trumpet phase?

Move2WY · 11/09/2018 20:38

La bamba?

Move2WY · 11/09/2018 20:39

Oh cross post

dudsville · 11/09/2018 20:39

I think the cow bell is really key to the intro. I'm going to google songs with cow bells. Feel I'm falling down a rabbit how with that though!

Bellini Samba de Janiero was the one I immediately thought of

goose1964 · 11/09/2018 20:40

Catquest1 · 11/09/2018 20:41

dudsville · 11/09/2018 20:41

Buena Vista Social Club?
Cuban rather than Mexican but could it be something by them?

Catquest1 · 11/09/2018 20:43
Catquest1 · 11/09/2018 20:43

That one?

dudsville · 11/09/2018 20:43

Ok. So it's more relaxed than the samba no 5. So by upbeat I think I mean calmly happy.

OP posts:
dudsville · 11/09/2018 20:50

No, not that one, and it's not buena vista. I now know that it's a bit like the song "lowrider".
