Bridal entrance songs!

RunSweatLaughAndLatte · 11/09/2018 20:15

Help me find the perfect bridal entrance song for my wedding. So far I'm thinking one of these:

  1. Ben E. King - Stand by me
  2. Louis Armstrong - what a wonderful world
  3. Eva Cassidy - Songbird
  4. Christina Perry - A thousand years

Opinions? Any other suggestions?

I arrived to Josh Ritter - Change of time. I had to listen to it many, many times to try and desensitise myself so that I didn’t cry!

I almost went for The Wedding Song by Bob Dylan, which I absolutely love. I also wanted I Melt with you, the Nouvelle Vague version, but DH wasn’t keen on it.

We walked out to Bring me Sunshine, which was good fun.

@Bobbiepin I had that for my first dance 💕💕💕

DiscombobulatedWomble · 12/09/2018 20:39

I walked in to

I still think it's stunning and get goosebumps every time I hear it Smile it's a mix of Beethoven's 5 secrets and some of the more modern Secrets by One Republic. Love it. Definitely give it a listen!

SkinnywannabeKBH · 12/09/2018 20:43

I had Nora Jones, Come Away With Me! I absolutely loved it and still do

Camper82 · 12/09/2018 20:59

I walked in to To Be Loved by Jackie Wilson, quite short and I still love it now.

First dance was Stand By Me because it was also short!

YouBetterWORK · 12/09/2018 21:00

Went traditional too, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, love the intro part. Coming out I think we had Prince of Denmarks March.

DangerousBeanz · 12/09/2018 21:11

I walked in to "A Whiter Shade of Pale" played on the church organ, my dad used to play Hammond organ and it was one of his favourites and we'd had it at his funeral, so it was a lovely link to him to have it at my wedding.
We walked out to One Day Like This by Elbow. We both really loved the lyrics and it was a beautiful June day so it fitted perfectly.

Normandy144 · 12/09/2018 21:14

I walked in to an instrumental version of Sigur Ros's Hoppipola (more commonly known as the Planet Earth theme tune). Such a lovely piece of music which builds nicely in intensity.
We walked out to the Strictly Ballroom classic, Love is in the Air by John Paul Young.

highheelsandbobblehats · 12/09/2018 21:16

I had She's Like The Wind by Patrick Swayze. I wanted to walk back out to Don't Stop Me Now by Queen, but I was overruled and we had Love Fool by the Cardigans instead.

Though why no one stepped in and talked us out of Sex On Fire for our first dance I don't know! Blush
It started as a joke between DH and I as we couldn't agree on a song and with the rest of wedding planning, that little detail got forgotten and we just went with it. We have some amazing pictures though, including one that's my favourite of all.

DangerousBeanz · 12/09/2018 21:25

Highheels, my DH and i always joke that Sex is on fire is "our tune" because once we were having a blessing row in the car and it came on the radio, and one of us (honestly can't remember who) said, "We need to stop this now, they are playing our tune."

howdyholdthedoody · 12/09/2018 21:36

Amy Winehouse cover of 'Will you still love me tomorrow'. Beautiful.

mammmamia · 12/09/2018 21:45

normandy my sister walked in to Hoppipola as well, I loved it!
I’m loving reading these.
My wedding was very 90s trip hop, I walked into Massive Attack’s Unfinished Sympathy and we walked out to Your love gets sweeter every day by Finley Quaye
I still love those tracks and it makes me so happy to hear them

Babybearsporij · 12/09/2018 21:52

We walked in to Gabriel's Oboe by Ennio Morricone and out to Poppiholla by Chicane (a remix of Hoppipola, which seems popular!)

We had Nessun Dorma (as DH is a massive football fan) and Flower Duet to sign the register.

cropcirclesinthefields · 12/09/2018 21:52

I had the theme from practical magic, I wanted the music since I first saw the film.

amilosingitor · 12/09/2018 21:54

I would love Flightless bird, American mouth.

I actually adore the wedding march and a part of me would love that although I think if me and DP ever get married it won't be the traditional English wedding of my dreams but more so a wedding abroad and I don't think it would suit!

After the royal wedding I think stand by me is an amazing choice, it made me well up, prior to that I've never really given it much thought as a wedding song!

Mistoffelees · 12/09/2018 21:54

Walked in to the acoustic version of Lifehouse- Hanging by a Moment

TheFaerieQueene · 12/09/2018 21:57

The current Mr F Queene suggested ‘Opps, I did it again’ by Brittney Spears for our Wedding. I had been married before.

amilosingitor · 12/09/2018 21:58

Ooh also myself and DP are r&b type music fans....I love jagged edge - lets get married and there are some nice slower versions knocking around on YouTube etc if that's your thing!

Claricestarling1 · 12/09/2018 22:02

I walked down to pachelbels canon in D because I love Father of the Bride!! 😁 it was lovely.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 12/09/2018 22:02

I walked up the aisle to 'here, there, everywhere' by the Beatles, played on an acoustic guitar.

jarviscockatiel · 12/09/2018 22:09

I came in to When I Said I Do by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black.

Soberfutures · 12/09/2018 22:32

Walked in to Cannon in D. Then had Beatles long and winding road for signing the register. Then we left to queen Your my best friend.

Keeoe · 12/09/2018 22:46

We descended the stairs together to 'Breathless' by Nick Cave (no aisle or giving away for us), had 'One Day Like This' by Elbow for signing the register and left to 'Baby, I Love You' by the Ramones ❤
