Bridal entrance songs!

Help me find the perfect bridal entrance song for my wedding. So far I'm thinking one of these:

  1. Ben E. King - Stand by me
  2. Louis Armstrong - what a wonderful world
  3. Eva Cassidy - Songbird
  4. Christina Perry - A thousand years

Opinions? Any other suggestions?

I'd have over the rainbow by Israel can't spell his surname too

Trying to decide on our songs now, would really like You Got The Love, but it’s a registry office wedding so I’m not sure it’s really get going by the time I get in. Also would love Tender by Blur but similar issue, Songbird by Oasis is also in the running.

Lovely ideas everybody 😁 Thank you

I agree that length is important. We are having a very intimate wedding in a hotel so don't want anything too long. I'm thinking "Stand by me" is a good option; that song never gets old as it's beautiful and also it's only 3 minutes long.

I walked in to canon in d, out to Symphony by Clean Bandit which has the loveliest words. And the because I'm a bit of a nob who can't be serious for very long, while we signed the register we played the Little Mix song which goes "you're the man but I've got the power" which made DH laugh and cringe all at the same time.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 12/09/2018 15:36

I walked in to stay with you by John Legend.
Songbird by Eva Cassidy was played at my husband's funeral so I can't imagine it as a wedding song

Catscakeandchocolate · 12/09/2018 15:58

I had Etta James' At Last. If i had my time again I would go for Nimrod and leave to Etta James

Idontcareifyouknowwhoiam · 12/09/2018 16:44

I walked in to this. If we hadn’t named it in the order of service, very few people would’ve known what it is.

Lynca · 12/09/2018 17:28

My entrance song was Tennessee by Hans Zimmer. I didn't want anything with lyrics, and it's such a beautiful melody. We had A Thousand Years, and I See You for signing the register, and Be My Forever by Christina Perri and Ed Sheeran for walking out.

DuploRelatedInjury · 12/09/2018 19:08

I had Butterfly Waltz by Brian Crain. Used some of his others for the other musical parts.

DH initially wanted Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl Grin

Try walking to your choice first. If you naturally fall into step with the tempo of the music you don't want to end up sprinting down the aisle!

gallicgirl · 12/09/2018 19:26

@mothertothelordsofmisrule

Please please tell me you recreated the throne scene to the last detail and someone did their best Chewie roar to get all the guests to face forward.

hahhaha I wish. Unfortunately the guests could hardly hear the music, thanks to the rubbish pa. We had a film theme so had lots of great themes to play throughout the day. We might have had lightsabers and a Death Star in the wedding photos too. Wink

liverbird79 · 12/09/2018 19:38

At last by Etta james

I'm having this

liverbird79 · 12/09/2018 19:39

Then stevie wonder signed sealed delivered to walk back together

OllyBJolly · 12/09/2018 19:43

I'd never heard of At Last by Etta James until DH chose it for our first dance. A bit corny - he was getting married for the first time aged 42! Rubbish to dance to but gorgeous song beautifully sung.

We had Highland Cathedral by the Scots Dragoon Guards for entry - it was perfect tempo for walking in. Exit was to Barry White's My First, My Last My Everything. Great start had everyone on their feet cheering - it was lovely.

hoopdeloop · 12/09/2018 19:47

I walked into Tale as Old as Time from Beauty and the Beast and we walked out to ‘Dreams Come True’ by Hall and Oates

MissMarplesKnitting · 12/09/2018 19:49

Out to signed, sealed delivered?!

I also love van Morrison have I told you lately or bright side of the road.

ConsistentInsomniac · 12/09/2018 19:52

I had ‘Grow Old With Me’ by Tom Odell. The intro still makes me well up every time I hear it four years later.

BlueGlasses · 12/09/2018 19:52

Walked in to From This Moment by Shania Twain. I timed my entrance so that my guests could hear the beautiful spoken words, the first verse and then the chorus before I showed up to walk in to the second verseWink

Frouby · 12/09/2018 19:53

We had Take That Rule the World to walk down to. A million miles away from our usual taste but it reminds us of DHs mum who died, not recently but we still wanted to remember her and have her with us.

We walked back up to Al Greens Lets Stay Together. Because it's on Pulp Fiction which is 'our' film. And signed the register to Queens You're My Best Friend.

bourbonbiccy · 12/09/2018 20:00

My friend was going to have At Last by Etta James , but changed her mind. Every time I hear it I think it is the best song to walk down the aisle to ever. It's beautiful .
I chose billy Joel , but then we forgot the music and didn't leave a copy with the venue ( my hubby and best man are DJs just to add insult to injury ) so just had to have "nice" background music, it was still a beautiful wedding

haggis81 · 12/09/2018 20:01

Walked in to In Pursuit of Happiness by the Divine Comedy. Out to Dreaming of You by the Coral.

MorvaanReed · 12/09/2018 20:06

We walked in to David Gary's "Please Forgive Me" and out to Lou Reed's "Perfect Day".

Wedding5inger · 12/09/2018 20:09

I don't mean this in an unkind way but have you ever thought about NOT walking down the aisle, or at LEAST doing so with your partner? I personally find it baffling that women are still choosing to carry out this tradition which is incredibly patriarchal!

Pasithea · 12/09/2018 20:10

I had in my life. The Beatles.

foxycleopauper · 12/09/2018 20:11

Sam Cooke - What a Wonderful World

Arctic Monkeys - Baby I'm Yours

Etta James - At Last

Were all on my list, Baby I'm Yours ended up being our first dance Smile

In the end for my entrance we chose The Pogues - Love You Til The End. Surprisingly lovely and uplifting to walk into, I'd never heard it but it was DH's suggestion. Now I cry whenever I hear it Grin

foxycleopauper · 12/09/2018 20:15

Oh and we walked/jigged out to Eight Days a Week by the Beatles! Loved that too.

Cat Power - Sea of Love is another nice one that we played whilst signing the register.
