Betty in Mad Men - just no need, it was the end of the series and unrealistic for a young woman to die of lung cancer

Cordelia in Angel - think they did this to get back at the actress for getting pregnant, the death was so senseless and ruined the long term story arc

Mark in ER - could he not have had a happy ending on that beach? Also it was such a rare condition.

Meg in Home and Away - this made teenage death seem so real

Chris in Stand By Me - a bad boy made good surely he was due good karma and a long life?

Luke and Han in Star Wars - just done for shock value

No one ever dies of dementia in films or tv!

Baby Grace in Hollyoaks, I never watched it again. Danielle in Eastenders was heartbreaking. Also Finnick in hunger games and Denny in Greys.

Mumsnut · 09/09/2018 17:54

Chin Ho Kelly ...

Sarahandduck18 · 09/09/2018 18:24

Jen at the end of Dawson’s creek.

Again moralistic American writers having to punish the ‘whore’.

Snape
Littlefinger

Has anyone mentioned Bambi' s mum Sad

MipMipMip · 09/09/2018 19:50

I don't think Lem was that bad. He was a bit fist happy but he would always be the one who tried to stop things. And he was the one who would be trying to save lives. His temper would get the best of him when friends or innocents got hurt, there was Hector's girlfriend that led to him ruining a stakeout when he went to fight Hector. Remember how gutted he was when two briefly team members died? Punching a window at one. Shane and Vic always kept those death quiet from Lem- not sure about Ronnie.

I do remember Lem left to work with kids then got dragged back reluctantly. He would get carried away with the idea of making money but he was definatly the Strike Team's Jiminy Cricket.

Ronnie I'm not sure. He was really undeveloped. Sad when he was arrested though.

I may be a tiny bit overinvested and had a crush on Lem and his lovely arms.

Melly Wilkes in gone with the wind
Peter Quinn in Homeland. Both DH and I shouted 'NOOOOOOOOO' at the telly

Stressedoverkids · 09/09/2018 20:56

It took me years to recover from the death of Damon Grant in Brookside. Grin

PurpleDaisies · 09/09/2018 22:07

Where did the spoiler warning come from? Wasn’t it absolutely obvious from the title? Hmm

elQuintoConyo · 09/09/2018 22:16

Maximus Dickus in Gladiator.

Goose in Top Gun.

Portia de Rossi in Scandal. Heck, the President's son in Scandal. Actually the majority of characters in Scandal - they should have killed off Olivia's parents and wossisface, Jake Bellend.

elQuintoConyo · 09/09/2018 22:20

Hang on, just caught up with the last few posts - they killed David Rosen in Scandal? I have just binge-watched the entire numpteen episodes and i didn't see that! Sad

strawberrypenguin · 09/09/2018 22:32

@LongSummerDays They killed Phil Bellamy in Heartbeat! I stopped watching a couple of seasons before the end but Nooooo. Not Phil. Agree about Daniel too - I sobbed through most of the episode. Neil dying was pretty rough too.

SemperIdem · 09/09/2018 23:06

Rob Morgan in Stella Blush

I see the actor around sometimes, he’s shorter than I imagined.

user1471434832 · 09/09/2018 23:19

Rayna in Nashville

ErrolTheDragon · 09/09/2018 23:30

Whaaat? Bastards. Oh, that reminds me, George Toolan in the finale of Frost - WTF was the point of that?

Katedotness1963 · 09/09/2018 23:44

Omar from The Wire. Actually there were a few deaths in that that were awful, but Omar was my favourite character.

Stahl from SOA, I thought she was a great evil character and the show missed her going on.

kingsleysbootlicker · 09/09/2018 23:51

Peter Quinn - Homeland

Opie - Sons of Anarchy

Leslie - Bridge to Terabithis

Marley - Marley and Me Sad

C0untDucku1a · 10/09/2018 00:10

I did like how they did rob morgan’s death though.

FireCrotch · 10/09/2018 01:49

Would defo have a go on Rob Morgan. Just something about him. No wonder Stella couldn't say goodbye to him. #hotginge

FireCrotch · 10/09/2018 02:00

DCI Billborough in Cracker. He was moody and mean but the scene where he breaks down crying when his wife gives birth to a much wanted and long waited for baby was so moving. When he bleeds to death minutes after shopping with his wife and playing with his baby his struggle is recorded on his walkie talkie he says "Oh God Catrina. What will they tell Catrina?" then dies as Penhaligon arrives. I loved Christopher Eccleston since then and watch whatever he's in. was not bothered as much by him joshing it in Fortitude though

tabulahrasa · 10/09/2018 02:30

Anya in buffy and Fred in angel...

Logan Sad twice I’ve sat there waiting for a post credit scene going... but he’s wolverine, he can’t die...

margotsdevil · 10/09/2018 07:48

Leo in the West Wing Sad

margotsdevil · 10/09/2018 07:49

Even though I know they had no choice.

JaneJeffer · 10/09/2018 08:27

They killed Phil Bellamy in Heartbeat! I'm hoping Emmerdale will take a leaf out of their book.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/09/2018 09:55

Dr Greene's death in ER was sad but we knew it was coming. The one that really got me was Greg Pratt's. The way tears start running down his face when he realises he's going to die. Mekhi Pfifer was as charismatic and talented as the young Clooney, and it mystifies me why he didn't become a bigger star.
