Betty in Mad Men - just no need, it was the end of the series and unrealistic for a young woman to die of lung cancer

Cordelia in Angel - think they did this to get back at the actress for getting pregnant, the death was so senseless and ruined the long term story arc

Mark in ER - could he not have had a happy ending on that beach? Also it was such a rare condition.

Meg in Home and Away - this made teenage death seem so real

Chris in Stand By Me - a bad boy made good surely he was due good karma and a long life?

Luke and Han in Star Wars - just done for shock value

No one ever dies of dementia in films or tv!

banana oh yes - the poor English squintern was way worse than killing off Sweets. My bones-hating husband watched that episode and said in a quiet little voice ‘but he was the best one in it’ and sulked.

Wash and the shepherd in Serenity. Especially Wash. He and Zoe had the best marriage on TV and every time I see the actor Alan Tudyk I think about poor Zoe losing Wash. (I may have been a little emotionally over invested in Firefly.)

The kid was sad, true. But no sorry over the awful wife dying

True, she was awful Grin

It was amazing how that even though the characters were largely so vile and corrupt you still ended up feeling for them. I was also gutted when Ronnie was arrested. Yet him and Lem were pretty much as bad as Shane and Vic.

woodhill · 09/09/2018 12:37

Definitely Hazel

That poor terrier in a Lassie film who gets bashed over the head Sad can't watch it.

Todd Landers in Neighbours

Sarahandduck18 · 09/09/2018 12:47

They had to kill Todd to give Phoebe the sympathetic single mother story line.
Cody on the other hand was shot through her window for no reason!

Richard Harrow in Boardwalk Empire. I’m still not over itSad

dannydyerismydad · 09/09/2018 13:02

Agatha in Poldark. There's just not enough wit without her.

woodhill · 09/09/2018 13:10

True, I wonder if Hope will appear at some point, she must be about 27? Or older

Petalflowers · 09/09/2018 13:17

Roxy and Ronnie in Eastenders. Felt they were really believable as sisters and had a great dynamic,

augustusglupe · 09/09/2018 13:18

Pat Butcher

augustusglupe · 09/09/2018 13:20

And Luke in Coronation street.

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 16:06

Nagini in HP, for a similar reason to Hedwig. I don't think animals can be inherently evil, she was just unfortunate in that she had Voldemort as an owner.

Hedwig was a working animal, like a sheepdog.

BearSoFair · 09/09/2018 16:22

Lucas North in Spooks...has to be 10 years by now and I'm still not over it!

Littlefinger in Game of Thrones, he was an absolute creep but God he was great at it, I would have loved to see what chaos he could have caused in the final season.

fuckwitseverywhere · 09/09/2018 16:28

Derek Shepherd

fuckwitseverywhere · 09/09/2018 16:30

And George O'Malley

Petalflowers · 09/09/2018 16:34

Lisa Falkener in Spooks. A main character killed in one of the first few episodes, in a shocking way.

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 16:35

And Snape. "You have your mother's eyes." 😭😭😭😭😭😭

happypoobum · 09/09/2018 16:48

Sirius Black

Betty Draper was in her forties I think - not that unusual to die of lung cancer when you think we never saw her without a cigarette on the go...

Sykes the dog.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/09/2018 16:51

Littlefinger in Game of Thrones, he was an absolute creep but God he was great at it, I would have loved to see what chaos he could have caused in the final season.

Yes... though it really was a great moment of him totally underestimating the Stark girls and being hoist with his own petard.

It did occur to me with Hedwig that maybe the animal handlers had just had enough of owls - apparently it's really hard to get them to perform, in contrast to ravens and other corvids.

dracolovesharry · 09/09/2018 16:51

Arthur in Merlin
Mike in Breaking Bad
Remus and Tonks
Ruth Evershed
Alice in Luther (or have they?)

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 09/09/2018 17:03

Tara in Buffy... Especially how we then had Kennedy for a season... Yay!!

Uriah in the last divergent book..then again seeing how that all ended...

tobee · 09/09/2018 17:06

Lots from Eastenders (sorry)

But stand out in my memory Debbie Bates because of poor Nigel.

Ethel even though she was old and Dot's part in it.

Sarahandduck18 · 09/09/2018 17:08

Heath Ledger and his brother in the Patriot.

They didn’t have to kill kids to make a point about how awful the English were.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/09/2018 17:29

David Rosen in Scandal. The one decent man on the show.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 09/09/2018 17:40

I just watched the final episode of the originals - I know it had to be done but very sad 😭

Enzo in vampire diaries - I couldn't carry on watching the series for ages i was so annoyed! Bonnie deserved to be happy.

Mike in breaking bad, Walter was a wanker by the end of the series I was hoping for someone to take him down (I also disliked Skylar from the beginning) each episode of better call Saul I watch I feel sad that he never did leave his granddaughter the legacy he wanted.

Also all the characters who died in Harry potter, still can't get over Dobby 😭

So many characters in walking dead and game of thrones. I'm scared to watch the final seasons when they come out as who knows who we will lose next!
