Betty in Mad Men - just no need, it was the end of the series and unrealistic for a young woman to die of lung cancer

Cordelia in Angel - think they did this to get back at the actress for getting pregnant, the death was so senseless and ruined the long term story arc

Mark in ER - could he not have had a happy ending on that beach? Also it was such a rare condition.

Meg in Home and Away - this made teenage death seem so real

Chris in Stand By Me - a bad boy made good surely he was due good karma and a long life?

Luke and Han in Star Wars - just done for shock value

No one ever dies of dementia in films or tv!

lostlalaloopsy · 08/09/2018 17:49

Sirius Black - he never even got a chance to enjoy his freedom.

And of course Dobby 😢😢😢 I read that for the 5th time last week and was still sobbing!

Dapplegrey · 08/09/2018 17:56

Thank you Inez and Allegorical.
I wonder what the film will be like and whether Matthew will make a Miss Ellie/Bobby Ewing appearance.

Janleverton · 08/09/2018 17:58

Leofric in the last kingdom.

ineedcoffeecoffeecoffee · 08/09/2018 18:00

Billy from Ally McBeal
Dr Greene from ER - even now i well up when i hear Somewhere over the rainbow
Doyle in Angel.
I sobbed at all three of those.

Pavlova31 · 08/09/2018 18:18

Dirk in Hollyoaks.

AragonsGirl · 08/09/2018 18:48

Dr Nigel Murray and Sweets in Bones...
Leo in Silent Witness
And not a death as such but Amy Pond in Dr Who had me in floods of tears 😭😭

Jessewaltskylar · 08/09/2018 19:59

@TwoBlueShoes omg yes that’s 100% correct I read that too. So glad they kept him. The pairing made the show! And yes I was stuck for a name & all the Dexter themed names were already taken (MY FAVE SERIES EVER!!) so had to settle for BB theme instead lol

RockinRobinTweets · 08/09/2018 20:05

Will in the Good Wife
Yy to Poussey

Quite traumatised by Dawson’s Dad back in the day Grin

bananamonkey · 08/09/2018 20:22

He didn’t die but I’m still not over Harry leaving Silent Witness, him and Nikki are meant to be!

I was upset about Sweets in Bones but Vincent Nigel Murray’s death was worse, unexpected and unnecessary!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/09/2018 20:23

Dobby and Hedwig were hard to deal with. I know they had to die (doin what’s right regardless of cost/death of childhood) but hell was it gut-wrenching.

I cried for Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Sirius, and Dumbledore too, but I absolutely sobbed for Snape.

kierenthecommunity · 08/09/2018 20:28

Good to know some people here have taste kierenthecommunity grin Although personally I didn't mind about Shane. Because of Lem... I never understood why the show didn't catch on here

Yeah I don’t think I was especially bothered about Shane himself but they way he did it. The little toy police car 😩

BlackeyedSusan · 08/09/2018 20:35

John Archer
Mark Hebden
Nigel Pargetter

RrreCansada · 08/09/2018 21:26

Keith Charles - Six Feet Under
Glenn - The Walking Dead
Hooch - Turner and Hooch Grin

I know he was convicted for sexual assault but I miss Todd Grimshaw in Corrie. He and Summer were brilliant together.

Flatwhitequeen · 08/09/2018 21:42

Lucy and dr green ER
Ceri mangle neighbours
Meg home and away
Rachel cold feet

MikeUniformMike · 08/09/2018 22:28

John Archer and Mark Hebden chose to leave, Nigel was pushed. I adored Nigel and was devastated.

MipMipMip · 08/09/2018 22:51

The kid was sad, true. But no sorry over the awful wife dying!

Stiddleficks · 08/09/2018 22:58

LadyFairfaxSake I wondered wether anyone here would say Cayde-6, I couldn’t watch, gutted Sad

Remus, Tonks and Fred Weasley

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/09/2018 23:21

It seemed to Hazel that he would not be needing his body any more, so he left it lying on the edge of the ditch, but stopped for a moment to watch his rabbits and to try to get used to the extraordinary feeling that strength and speed were flowing inexhaustibly out of him into their sleek young bodies and healthy senses

Hazel from Watership Down (yes I know he was about a hundred and twelve in Rabbit Years , but c'mon , that's a death worth a mention )

Gersemi · 08/09/2018 23:53

Molly in A Country Practice.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 08/09/2018 23:59

Arthur in Merlin
Ruth in Spooks
Hank in BB
Lesley in Bridge to Terabithia

Jenny in Forest Gump was sad, but it was the first time my DS2 with ASD had ever cried at a film. It was both sad and wonderful at the same time. He was about 14.

PhilomenaButterfly · 09/09/2018 05:19

70 Hazel's what I call a "happy-sad" ending. He's ready to go, but we're sad when it happens.

toolazytothinkofausername · 09/09/2018 08:11
