Mine goes really frizzy

But if you put leave in conditioner it goes really nice

Wavy and frizzy on the first day. The waves mostly drop out by the second day and it's just frizzy. Anti-frizz products weigh it down too much and I lose the waves.

I tried Curly Girl for a couple of years, and it was better - more waves and slightly less frizz - but definitely wasn't a 'just wash it and leave it' process! The benefits did not outweigh the effort that went into it.

I wash my hair, towel dry and brush it with a tangle teezer type brush. Then leave it. I do own a big hair brush thing but I haven't used it for years.

It's thick, straight and I get it cut every couple of months.

Back-combed straw. I go up at least two hat sizes.

Curly girl method here too. Not brushed for 2 years. Handful of conditioner left on and left to dry.

I have very fine, short, thinning hair, and without styling my hair looks shit.
I also have an intolerance to conditioner and styling products generally and get a rash on my scalp if I use anything but the most basic non-conditioning shampoo, plus if I blow dry or pull at my hair it falls out.
So, in short I wash and leave it every day. And every day it looks shit.

Completely straight. It’s fine and if I don’t have a really good haircut it looks terrible.

tapdancingmum · 04/09/2018 09:43

I am so jealous of those of you with curly hair but I would have to have to 'do' something to my hair every day.

I have the straightest hair you have ever seen and like a pp used to get asked if I ironed it instead of drying it. I wash mine, wrap it in a towel for a bit, brush it and leave it. If I'm feeling adventurous i will put it in a bun for sleeping to wake up to a slight wave in the morning only for it to disappear within half an hour.......

ALittleAubergine · 04/09/2018 09:46

I have very fine, thin hair so it just settles the same no matter what I do or don't do. I usually don't bother with conditioner, hair dryer or even brushing it that often.

MsHomeSlice · 04/09/2018 09:51

mine looks like that picture of iggy pop if I let it get to any length! It's fine, and straight and lank AF if it gets any length

I keep it in a long asymmetric pixie and do bugger all to it...wash, rarely condition, towel dry, comb & leave
I recently got some mini straighteners for putting a wave/curl in, but if there is any hint of breeze or damp then those curls will fall out between me putting down the straighteners and reaching the bottom of the stairs.

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 04/09/2018 09:53

Wavy. But not lovely beachy wavy, it just looks a bit unkempt. It's OK for weekends at home, but not if I'm going out/to work anywhere. I try not to blow dry it at weekends if I can help it, as I find too much heat isn't great for it.

bigKiteFlying · 04/09/2018 09:54

It's what I normally do - worked best for my hair goes wavy.

DD1 has same hair- MIL drives me nuts and she inists on brushing it and then end up with a frizzy mess and goes dry, quickly knots and matts.

user1499173618 · 04/09/2018 09:56

Flat and shapeless. Unless I’m on holiday in the Mediterranean, when it looks beachy in a good way.

Ds's mad hair

Damn autocorrect. DD not DS!! He's short, back and sides Grin

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 04/09/2018 10:17

It's fine if I tie it up and let it try naturally (takes chuffing hours though) but if I leave it loose it goes massive.

elena7475 · 04/09/2018 10:20

I wash with shampoo and use hair mask for few min. Can't brush without hair mask. It would look and feel like haystack otherwise

Littlechocola · 04/09/2018 10:21

Mine is very iffy pop too!

Littlechocola · 04/09/2018 10:21

Iggy not iffy Grin

UpstartCrow · 04/09/2018 10:28

Day 1 - fabulous hair.
Day 2 - Gary Numan hair.

@surpriseitsme, your hair is gorgeous. Although much better and less frizzy now, my hair is still not as glossy as yours. How do you wear it when you go to bed? I tie my (shoulder length hair) up in a pineapple on the top of my head. But it somewhat takes away from the curl.

OutPinked · 04/09/2018 13:20

A lions mane

Rebecca36 · 04/09/2018 13:22

Depends what I'm doing. If I'm indoors and comb it regularly it looks OK by the time it has dried. At other times it looks like a wavy mess, quite unkempt!

Better when my hair has recently been cut, there's not so much of it to frizz up.

JoeElliotsMullet · 04/09/2018 14:13

Despite my username, my hair is flatter than a steamrollered pancake that had previously gone on a diet.

I long for big unruly wild locks (but not a mullet!)

Sigh.

SapphireSeptember · 04/09/2018 14:25

I have very long, slightly wavy hair, it's flat and has no volume. I just leave it, I brush it and it's fine. I refuse to put heat or styling products near my hair!
