Just for fun! Aside from property/cars, whats the best thing you've purchased this year?

Mine has to be my rice cooker/steamer. Sad i know 😁

Dyson v10. Oh I love it so much, it makes housework... enjoyable Shock

Spudlet · 03/09/2018 07:14

Fly nets for the windows and a magnetic fly curtain for the back door. They were only from Aldi, but what a difference!

Also a basket for my bike so I can bring all DSs playgroup art home, and a down jacket in the January sales which I think saved me from playground hypothermia a number of times!

ShatnersBassoon · 03/09/2018 07:15

A big smart TV for the front room. It's made me so happy.

NicoAndTheNiners · 03/09/2018 07:16

A stereo for my car which does Spotify and sat nav.

exLtEveDallas · 03/09/2018 07:18

Fish tank (from a Mumsnetter friend) - we spend more time staring at it than the TV!

Trampoline for DD (after listening to her pester for about 2 months we finally gave in - she's on it every day)

CakeNinja · 03/09/2018 07:22

A Clarisonic for my face. It makes me feel so squeaky clean!
Agree with Spotify and the cordless Dyson lovers, wouldn’t be without mine.

LunchBoxPolice · 03/09/2018 07:23

Breville halo.

LanaorAna2 · 03/09/2018 07:25

Reduced from £1050 to £15 in TK Maxx sale, a dead plain Margiela jacket with a leopard print collar. It looked terrible on the limp sale hanger among all the broken biscuits but when I tried it on I knew we were BFF. Perks everything up.

AveABanana · 03/09/2018 07:34

Bagel cutter. No more bleeding fingers and lots more toasted bagels. The kids that couldn't possibly make a sandwich or toast some bread themselves think it's amazing and it has reduced the cries of "can I have a snack mum" by 78%

AuntieMay · 03/09/2018 07:37

A husqvarna automatic lawnmower- it has revolutionised our weekend, and not coming home to long grass after a 2 week holiday was fab!

BikeRunSki · 03/09/2018 07:40

Air tickets to France - rekindled my relationship with my sister, DCs got to go abroad..

But Chilly bottle is pretty good too!

And a lovely vintage duffle coat I am looking forward to wearing again in the winter.

Sammysquiz · 03/09/2018 07:42

My cordless Shark vacuum. It’s amazing!

Also, my egg-boiler. I love eggs for breakfast but have got so much to do in the mornings, that I usually missed the point they started boiling so it was a bit of guess-work as to when they were done. Now I stick them in the machine and can forget about them until it beeps at me. Perfect degree of softness each time! Also, if you do hard-boiled eggs in it they are really easy to peel, far easier than when I do them in a pan.

FaithInfinity · 03/09/2018 07:46

Bought for me: Make up remover wipes from cheeky wipes. Saved a fortune on cotton wool, cleanser/toner/moisturiser cos I now use coconut oil instead. Skin looks good and it’s better for the planet!

Received: Egg cooker from Lakeland. Does a variety of eggs, works quickly with minimal mess.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 03/09/2018 08:20

Bought for me for a big birthday- my Apple Watch.

Grumpbum123 · 03/09/2018 08:21

My Chilly bottle

Winterfellismyhome · 03/09/2018 08:32

Dyson v10 animal. Gets rid of dog hairs in seconds, I absolutely love it!

BroomstickOfLove · 03/09/2018 08:46

My contigo thermal mug. I didn't expect to love it quite as much as I do. I can drink camomile tea snuggled up in the middle of the bed without the risk of spilling it.

BroomstickOfLove · 03/09/2018 08:49

Also, a bottle of arctic fox hair dye in aquamarine. I have had sensible, boring hair all my life, and now random strangers stop me to tell me how much they like my hair.

AwfulSomething · 03/09/2018 08:51

Samsung Galaxy Note 9, amazing phone.

DaphneduM · 03/09/2018 08:51

One pair of Dolce and Gabbana sandals and one pair of Dolce and Gabbana shoes. Both from T K Maxx - absolutely thrilled with them!!!! And total bargains, compared to full retail price.

WinnerWinnerChickenDinner0 · 03/09/2018 09:03

I bought a stain v10 this weekend. Love it so much already
In fact, I’m having to do stealth vacuuming because my dh is now laughing at me using it so much. Might need to ltb if he doesn’t go back to work soon and leave me with my toyGrin

Ariela · 03/09/2018 09:43

Pair of shorts. Had no idea this summer would be so sunny.

Lndnmummy · 03/09/2018 10:07

A sleepy head. Oh my goodness.

BrassicaBabe · 03/09/2018 15:33

@AuntieMay yes!! I love our auto mower more than anything. Our grass has never ever looked even half this good!!
