Where did these knickers come from?

Bestseller · 29/08/2018 18:17

I've found them in my underwear drawer.

They're similar to my usual ones (plain black no VPL) but are a different size and a brand I've never bought.

DH does the laundry in this house so I have to assume he put them there when putting clean washing away. But, how did they get in the laundry in the first place?

We have two teen boys but no regular girlfriends afaik (older one has friends who are girls).

DH very occasionally goes away on business but they're not affair undies and even when I look for them I can't see any signs of anything untoward there.

We've occasionally given a key to tradesmen.

I can't think of anything else

How long have you lived there? Previous owner's that somehow emerged from the depths of a cupboard?

Bestseller · 29/08/2018 18:28

We've been here 15years and bought all the furniture with us, no fitted cupboards

Out of interest what are you looking for when you are checking these knickers for anything untoward? Shock

What is the brand?

Haha, I meant nothing untoward in DH's behaviour!

Have you had any houseguests who may have accidentally left a pair behind after staying the night?

Do you ever send your laundry away to be ironed or something and it’s a mix up there?

Knicker fairies?

Bestseller · 29/08/2018 18:31

They're a supermarket brand whereas all mine are M&S

HoobleDooble · 29/08/2018 18:35

I wear black Supermarket branded ones, in such a size that the wind may have took them from my line into your garden! Grin

BikeRunSki · 29/08/2018 18:39

Did you scoop them up in the gym/swimming pool/sauna/spa changing rooms by accident?

Hallouminati · 29/08/2018 18:41

How close is your neighbour's washing line? This happened to us several times after we moved house - I'd find knickers in the clean laundry pile that weren't mine or DSD's, but they weren't affair type knickers. We couldn't work out where they were coming from until one day we were sitting in the kitchen and saw a sock fly over the fence in the breeze. After a closer look it turned out our neighbours don't use pegs and just drape their clothes over a line near the fence. DH would see them on the grass and assume they were mine or DSD's, DSD would see them and think they're mine and I'd think they were hers.

Catmatrat · 29/08/2018 18:44

Just because they aren’t affair type knickers doesn’t mean they aren’t affair knickers I’m sorry to say xx

Scrumptiousbears · 29/08/2018 18:46

Ive had a few spontaneous one night stands when I wasn't expecting them and didn't have my "affair" knickers on.

ScreamingValenta · 29/08/2018 18:47

Could they have been picked up accidentally when staying with friends or relatives? I found a pair of my mum's pants in my suitcase once after staying with my parents. They were with the pants I'd taken with me but not worn (I used to take double the pants I'd need in the days when I suffered heavy periods) so must have been in the spare room drawer there. I knew they were hers because I'd seen others in the same design drying in the bathroom.

Pywife2 · 29/08/2018 18:58

Show them to your DH and say 'These we're in my drawer! How do you think they got there?' Hmm

BlackForestCake · 29/08/2018 19:04

How stupid would a man have to be to sleep with an OW, take her knickers home with him (?!), wash them and put them in his wife's underwear drawer??

MeMyselfand · 29/08/2018 19:09

Jeez! You get affair knickers now. At leased husbands all over the country will easily be able to tell if their wife is doing the dirty.... Just look in her drawer and see if she has a supply of affair knickers

53rdWay · 29/08/2018 19:16

Have you stayed with friends recently? Knickers could have got left somewhere near yours and packed up by accident?

OutPinked · 29/08/2018 19:19

I don’t think there’s such a thing as ‘affair knickers’ in all honesty. People just do it as and when, not everyone plans the affair. Your DH would be pretty foolish to bring another woman’s undies home, wash them and put them in your drawer though Confused.

I would be pointing fingers at the teenage boys tbh. Any chance they’ve had someone over when you have been out?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 29/08/2018 19:26

I only ever wear 'affair' knickers, have drawers full of them and say to myself each morning... "John or Lee or Mike or Henry... which ones shall I have today"... is there such a thing as an 'affair bra' too? Does it have to match?

How very odd. Is there an actual definition of affair knickers then? From my recollection, they were just day to day 'nice knickers', they didn't do anything special.

I can't believe this thread is serious?

HildaZelda · 29/08/2018 19:28

My friend came down one morning to find a pair of boxers on her kitchen floor. They definitely hadn't been there the night before. She's a lesbian, she knew there were definitely no strange men in her house! Next thing the door banged and her golden retriever arrived with pair number 2.
She had to knock on the neighbours door (recently moved in and she didn't know them well) and hand 2 pairs of boxers to the neighbours wife and mutter "I think these belong to your husband. I'm sorry my dog robbed them from your washing line"
Fortunately the neighbours wife found it hysterically funny Grin

ScreamingValenta · 29/08/2018 19:29

Just a thought, but you don't live anywhere near this cheeky feline, do you? Grin

You're right Lying, I wasn't serious about affair knickers, but I have found a random pair in my drawer.

I was simply saying that I realise the most obvious explanation is that DH has accidently brought them home from a tryst but I haven't seen anything in his behaviour to support that theory, even though I have looked for it.

Do you have a dog, Bestseller?

More likely - could you have picked them up at the gym/swimming pool with your own stuff and just put them in the machine without looking at them as they're similar to your own?

Or blown into your garden from somebody else's line and just been included with your own stuff?

ThirdChildFourthPile · 29/08/2018 19:33

I once had a fluorescent pink bra (it was nicer than it sounds) once which I loved but only wore once when it totally disappeared off the face of the earth. I looked everywhere for it.

Over a year later it appeared in my bra drawer. Just sitting there on top as though it had been there all along.

What the fuck?

junebirthdaygirl · 29/08/2018 19:34

I found a stray bra down the back of my couch recently. DS had friends staying over and one girl slept on the couch. He is 20. It could easily have been thrown into landry if anyone elze had found it.
So your dss friends staying over..not girlfriends.
