Where the fuck would you hide the amazon remote?!!! I've turned the house upside down! I know she was doing it to annoy her older sister....

You could also try the ; Lets see who can find the remote control game,
With a nice prize for the finder.

theDudesmummy · 26/08/2018 15:58

My DS posted all my bank cards into an air conditioning unit when he was 4. Only found months later where they had gone...

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 26/08/2018 16:57

Our sofa has a pocket below the armrests under the cushions. It’s hard to get into but anything lost in our house always turns up there.

I haven't read the full thread but did you know you can download a remote on your phone?

missfit123 · 26/08/2018 21:03

ooh and that reminds me of the St Anthony prayer to help you find lost things

Clawdy · 26/08/2018 22:13

"Anthony, Anthony, turn around,
Something's lost and must be found" !

MsSquiz · 26/08/2018 22:15

Wedged behind a radiator? I managed to lose my uncle's huge bunch of keys (he looked after properties for my great uncle) when I was about 5 and they were half way down the back of a radiator 🙄

elvislives2012 · 26/08/2018 22:44

Haha thanks for the good wishes. I'll keep looking. She didn't have time to put it far from the living room so it must be downstairs. I've pulled the whole place apart but I'll do another sweep tomorrow. Blooooooody kidsGrin

Happened here once. Turned everywhere upside down. Twice. Found it in the dolls pushchair. In the hood which had been folded back so totally hidden!!

stuckinagut · 27/08/2018 08:35

We found lost car keys in a fridge in the hallway (empty, ready to sell). Many many things have been found in the bin, in the washing machine, in the garden, under the stairs... best let her find it!

Member745520 · 27/08/2018 09:50

If you've got an old set top box knocking around which has a slot for VHS cassettes I would bet it's been shoved in there. I understand that's where people used to find the odd fish finger... no idea how thin your remote is, but also possibly pushed into a dvd slot?

I'm too old (B.T. = Before Technology) to have had similar experiences with my DC. but we often found missing kittens in the dolls' house

cameltoeflappyflapflap · 27/08/2018 09:52

Inside a cushion cover/pillow.

unicornfarts · 27/08/2018 14:35

inside a trunki/ schoolbag is the current favourite hiding place in our house.

found my long lost keys (lost 2.5yrs ago) inside the frame of our treadmill.....i too thought the then 2 year old didn't have time to go far with them....

good luck with the hunt,

BalloonSlayer · 27/08/2018 21:45

I think I would play it disingenuous and for everything she asks for (obviously not essentials or love!) say in a very sweet way that it's no longer possible because the remote is missing, eg: "Oh sorry darling, I'm afraid the remote control you hid opens the cupboard with the chocolate in." "Well I was going to give you chips for dinner but I need the remote control you hid to turn the oven on, so it will have to be something with vegetables instead."

Not done nastily, but helplessly.

I reckon she'll "remember" quite quickly.

Of course if it never does turn up you will have to pretend you got the engineers in to "override" the oven/chocolate cupboard.

nearlythesummer · 27/08/2018 22:49

In your car. I've often found my lost things there.

nearlythesummer · 27/08/2018 22:51

The dog also hid our controls in the garden.

FeckingFeckers · 27/08/2018 22:59

In the vacuum pipe? In the washing machine drawer? In the bin? Under the sofa? Behind the shoe rack? In the dog bed? Inside a sofa cushion? Under the toybox? In a vase? In a shoe? In the washing basket? In the washing powder box? In the toilet? In the fridge/freezer? Under the cooker/fridge/washer? Under the rug? All places where I've found my phone/keys/remotes and other toddler treasures they love to hideGrin

The worst one was when DS hid the front door key in the plantpot in the garden. Didn't find it until 1 year later when I dug up my bulbs to be replaced!!! Little shitebag!

MrsMozart · 28/08/2018 08:10

How's it going OP?

elvislives2012 · 28/08/2018 14:35

Honestly I've turned the house upside down. I think I'll just have to buy a new one! £20!!!!!!

OP posts:
SharkSave · 29/08/2018 18:23

Download the remote app on your phone!

elvislives2012 · 29/08/2018 21:33

I have it just means it's not so handy

OP posts:
sirmione16 · 30/08/2018 08:26

You know it'll show up just as the new ones paid for or arrives right Grin

elvislives2012 · 30/08/2018 21:55

Absolutely that's why I'm too tight to buy one!

OP posts:
elvislives2012 · 31/08/2018 18:53

Hallelujah! Praise be! I found it. Tucked into an old wellie that doesn't fit her anymore (fuck knows where that came from) wedged under the seat of my car!
