Have you checked her older sister hasn't put it somewhere?
My DD lost the baby monitor down the side of her bed, she didn't even remember having it but I'd seen her holding it earlier on. I'd look places like that if she doesn't remember, so somewhere she goes often/would put something down without thinking, where it could be knocked out of sight.

Also try offering a chocolate bar for whoever finds it first and get them both looking tomorrow, saves you doing the whole hunt for it!

Ds1 will take the remote with him to stop ds2 messing up what he is watching, I've found it in the loo, in the kitchen, hidden on a chair under the kitchen table, in his bedroom, and mostly wedged down the side of the sofa. I have found one in the duplo box, but I think that fell in there and luckily we had a spare that had similar functions.

Behind the curtains (if floor length) I found my Tiffany bracelet there!

I hid my sisters school locker key under an item of dolls house furniture. In my defence, she was antagonising me a lot. I then forgot about it. My sister had a huge freak out about it, ending in a blubbery mass of tears. My mum waded in to "search" which meant turning the whole room upside down, except the dolls house.
When my mum had given up and my sister was sulking downstairs, I retrieved the key and left it in her bed.
She found it that evening.
