What pointless 'talent' do you have?

Just talking with a friend about pointless 'talents' and wondered what yours are Smile

She was working out when she could next have paracetamol and I just said it immediately, when I was a teen I spent a lot of time having inhalers for my asthma every 4 hours, so it turns out I can still work out 4 hours immediately without thinking about it

She chipped in that she can fold her tongue in to a w shape

I am chronically ill and not overly flexible but I can do a good bridge. I can also twerk and do the floss (not very fast though). I don't actually have a lot of rhythm and I'm not a great dancer.

I can identify a song instantly, not so much with songs these days but 90s and 2000s.

I also have a photographic memory for some things. Usually pointless, irrelevant things, but if I've remembered it then it's 100% accurate and I get annoyed if people argue with me that I'm wrong.

Fwend · 22/08/2018 12:05

I can wake up at whatever time I want to without an alarm clock.

AspieHere · 22/08/2018 12:05

"I can write with both hands - although not at the same time. Downside is I am incapable of differentiating between left & right!"

I forgot, I can write with both hands, at the same time, right hand forwards and left hand backwards.

I can also touch my arm by bending my thumb down and can fold my thumb behind my knuckle.

QueenRefusenik · 22/08/2018 12:11

I am a fiend at constructing insanely complicated tracks with ds' wooden railway

milliemops · 22/08/2018 12:12

@aurynne I can do this too!!! Grin and so can my three dcs. Didn't know anyone else that could do this but worked out must be genetic as dcs can. Very proud to pass down this talent Hmm

Collectorofcookbooks · 22/08/2018 12:17

I can raise one eyebrow. Taught myself to do it when stuck in hospital as a teen!

Good for looking quizzical or for letting the kids know they're in trouble!

PrefabSprouts · 22/08/2018 12:30

I can write with both hands - although not at the same time. Downside is I am incapable of differentiating between left & right!

Same here!

I can write with my toes too (well, the right ones) and I can wiggle my middle toes. So talented.

DrCoconut · 22/08/2018 12:33

I have perfect pitch. Play me a note (on a non transposing instrument 😂) and I will tell you what note it is. I can even tell the slight difference if it's baroque pitch and I remember tunes for years.

DryAsThingysFootwear · 22/08/2018 12:38

I can juggle that was a school holiday well spent

Inthetropics · 22/08/2018 12:52

Acoording to my family i can make dumpling that are EXACTLY the same size and shape.

Inthetropics · 22/08/2018 12:53

*dumplings

Inthetropics · 22/08/2018 12:54

PuppyMonkey · 22/08/2018 12:58

I can also say the alphabet backwards really quickly. Grin

I’ve taught it to my kids too. A dinner lady at school taught me. You do it like a little song:

Zyx
Wv
Uts
Rqp
Onm
Lkj
Ihgfedcba

mawbroon · 22/08/2018 13:00

Jigsaws. I'm really good at them, but not a very useful talent!

MellowMelly · 22/08/2018 13:05

I can fold my tongue in half backwards and it stays put. Useless but hilarious at parties as I watch people pulling the most ridiculous faces trying to do the same thing.

I’m also really good at saying words backwards.

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 22/08/2018 13:17

I can sleep anywhere! Planes, trains, buses, cars, the staff room at work. Doesn’t matter how noisy I can nod off for a nap as long as I’m sitting down.

eyycarumba · 22/08/2018 13:42

I can write with my toes, actually, I can use my toes almost as well as my hands for a lot of things. Spent way too much time as a child using my feet to fetch things/press buttons/draw because I was too lazy to get up. I can also fold them over each other/cross them without using my hands to move them. I'm 'double jointed' so guess it's related

turnandtwist · 22/08/2018 13:45

I'm really good at Soduko, despite being hopeless at maths.
Not even a very logical person.

PuppyMonkey · 22/08/2018 14:15

Puddle, I would love to have your talent.

heartofgold · 22/08/2018 14:16

i can count in binary on my fingers.

catherinedevalois · 22/08/2018 14:24

I can identify all the countries in the world by their shape on a map and their flags and capitals. Extremely pointless and after 2 minutes everyone's bored because they can't catch me out

Twofishfingers · 22/08/2018 14:28

I can pick a pencil on the floor with my toes.

I can also pick a PAIR of shoes with my toes.

I can touch my elbows together behind my back.

heatherblue · 22/08/2018 14:29

I can put a cigarette in my mouth and use my toes to light it with a lighter, spectacularly pointless as I haven't smoked for years.

I can recite Jabberwocky.

LongSummerDays · 22/08/2018 15:10

I can recall entire conversations from years ago. It drives OH up the wall.

Especially when I do it in an argument. Halo

Blankiefan · 22/08/2018 16:21

I can fold crisp bags into triangles.
