Is there any point keeping a pair of utterly gorgeous shoes you can't possibly ever wear?

Yeah me & the Anthropologie sale a few years back Hmm I bought these incredibly cute black velvet car-to-bar shoes - walking in them is just not possible, though somehow that didn't enter my mind at the time... Having a clear out, keep or chuck?

Chuck.

There no point keeping them - send them to me instead (they’re a size 4, aren’t they?) Grin

Over the years I have kept many beautiful pairs of heels that I simply cannot walk in.

Every time I did a "spring clean" of my wardrobe I would find the shoes, squeal in excitement and try them on and just admire how damn beautiful they were in the mirror. Then of course they want back in the box until the next spring clean.

It wasn't until I realised that some pairs of shoes had come with me on 4 Blush house moves that I realised how bloody silly that was.

So my advice now would be sell / charity shop them! And enjoy the extra wardrobe space on shoes that you can actually wear!

Sitranced · 20/08/2018 20:11

eBay and buy a better pair

goforkyourself · 20/08/2018 20:15

I have a pair of shoes like these - black sequinned high heels that bloody cripple me but they're so beautiful I can't bear to get rid of them. I mean, so beautiful that everyone comments on them but the following day I stumble round like a lame Shire horse Grin and wail 'They're filled with my blood!'

Foslady · 20/08/2018 20:17

I have my fancy (to me) shoes on a shelf in my bedroom

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 20/08/2018 20:17

I have a pair of kurt Keiger heels- omg my feet cry whenever I put them on- must get round to ebaying as they do nothing for me in my wardrobe for 6years

Jammiebammie · 20/08/2018 20:18

I’m disabled following an accident.. won’t ever walk in heels again - but I’ve kept a few of my favourite pairs on display in my closet - I have no idea why Blush
They’re sooo pretty to look at!

A colleague of mine gave me a pair of gorgeous shoes she couldn't walk in so they hadn't even been worn outdoors. Then admitted she had used them in the bedroom....

HollowTalk · 20/08/2018 20:24

Can you post a photo, OP?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 20/08/2018 20:26

Shhooooes

Why haven't you all posted pictures of these lovely things? Shock

user1471... I have 'slut shoes' too. Can barely stand up in them...

ExileOnMNStreet · 20/08/2018 20:28

Hang onto them.

Like jammie I could no longer wear my beautiful heels due to a disability, but hung onto them and the upside is that I can wear them now. when I'm in my wheelchair! I realise this is a slightly OTT solution to impractical shoes though and may not work for everyone Grin

Hippopotas · 20/08/2018 20:29

I have the most gorgeous pair of shoes. Heels are too high and shoes too tight and a bit small. Can’t bear to part with them though.

specialsubject · 20/08/2018 20:32

chuck. horrible things that twist feet, wreck backs and make you stagger.

giant heels are disgusting.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 20/08/2018 20:33

Put them on display!

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 20/08/2018 20:34

Get taxi to venue, walk all of five steps and then sit on a bar stool looking gorgeous in them.

HollowTalk · 20/08/2018 20:35

Specialsubject, are you feeling okay? You seem awfully down.

JaretsGirlfren · 20/08/2018 20:38

I love my ridiculous high heels, sometimes if I’m going out I’ll put them on just for a photo but that’s it, they’ve never left the house Blush Grin

ExileOnMNStreet · 20/08/2018 20:39

Aren't you a little ray of sunshine special? Hmm I never understand the mentality of coming onto a thread which isn't actually asking for your opinion if something is nice or not, and simply just declaring something is shit, or "disgusting". Especially in a thread full of people who like said items.

I might pop into a dog thread in The Doghouse and tell them all that dogs are horrible and disgusting and I would be right but very rude Grin

specialsubject · 20/08/2018 20:39

the first sentence is all fact. the second is my opinion. I am not down at all, although if I wore shitty painful shoes I would be. Seeing women in theseis quite funny although pitiful.

mn absolutes disclaimer - a small heel looks elegant. but they are no longer legal. must be the caae as you.cant buy them.

this is chat, not style and beauty so saying that spike heels are fugly is allowex.

specialsubject · 20/08/2018 20:42

op asked what to do with useless objects. I gave my answer. thats how internet forums work.

now toddle off back to the playground where foot stamping works. if you.can walk in your dickish shoes.

ExileOnMNStreet · 20/08/2018 20:45

Well special if you'd actually RTFT instead of jumping in to snark, you would see I actually can't walk. Or stamp my feet, dickish shoes or not Grin

twosunbathingdogs · 20/08/2018 20:48

I like your style exile

sourpatchkid · 20/08/2018 20:49

I bloody love you lot. I thought I was the only fool who kept beautiful shoes that I can't walk in
