Somany Trapdoor was an animation. Brightly coloured clay monsters that lived down a trapdoor in a castle. Sorry, I worded my earlier post poorly.

I also loved Takes from Fat Tulips Garden - an unappreciated classic imo.

@PrivateParkin That sounds like Redwall - it was a book series which I LOVED, there was a cartoon but I didn't watch it as loved the books too much.

Anyone remember Doctor Snuggles? All I remember is a doctor going round a forest on a pogo stick, which Google leads me to believe was called that...

Also loved Bump the Elephant and the Loch Ness family one!!

Came across whilst searching for the Tony Robinson one. No idea what the credits were like and it's not a cartoon but it looks weird enough to have flute classical music and a crane in the titles.

@EyeDrops oh yes it could well be Redwall! I know I read the book (just the first one I think) when I was a kid but I didn't remember that there was a cartoon. I have younger siblings so perhaps it was something they watched and I've just a vague memory of it. Thanks!!

I must have watched it at some point because the clips on YouTube look familiar. Don’t recognise the title at all.

Mostly what I remember him from as a child was Blood and Honey, which was basically just him running around the Holy Land retelling stories from the Old Testament.

On the theme of Bible story cartoons, did anyone watch The Greatest Adventure series with a time-travelling trio called Derek, Margo and Mokey? I loved them and recently found them all on YouTube, enjoying reliving them with my DD!

Passmethecrisps I remember Gideon!! But as a book, not a cartoon. If you want to get really retro I was given the book personally by none other than Biddy Baxter from Blue Peter. This is my one and only claim to fame.
