Not read whole thread but I disappointed by some chocolates we had yesterday tasteless gooey nush.

What about Godiva? Are they still good and German brands...

Justonedayatatime11 · 20/08/2018 10:34

Blimey, placed my Love Cocoa order at 9am and in less than an hour I'd had an email saying it's been dispatched! Let's hope the chocolate measures up to the customer service!

RayneDance · 20/08/2018 10:39

I don't understand the money making post earlier in. Surely if people have your products they won't buy?

WhatsInAnotherNameChange · 20/08/2018 10:50

Godiva Chocolate#cgid=All%20Godiva%20Chocolate&start=4

Godiva do use palm oil in some of their products.

You'd have to check the nutritional information for each product to be sure.

Roxers · 20/08/2018 10:52

Out of the six bars I ordered, I am particularly looking forward to tasting this one -

"Sparkling Rosé Chocolate is here!
We combine the finest organic white chocolate with a dash of Digby Rosé English Sparkling wine, Strawberry powder, Rose oil and popping candy."

I shall be hiding it from DH.

LemonRedwood · 20/08/2018 10:57

I ordered that one too Roxers. It sounds decadent. Fortunately, my DH is convinced he doesn't like white chocolate so will never try any!

ThinksTwice · 20/08/2018 11:09

Is it true that Irish Cadbury's chocolate tastes the same as it used to?

HollyGibney · 20/08/2018 11:12

Apparently, I know Canadian Cadburys does. You can get Irish Cadburys in the World Food Aisle at Asda.

PerverseConverse · 20/08/2018 11:25

Irish Cadbury's is available on amazon and doesn't contain palm oil

Dancergirl · 20/08/2018 11:28

Love a good chocolate thread!

How do you get a discount code for Love Cocoa?

Dancergirl · 20/08/2018 11:30

If you're in the London area, I highly recommend the Chocolate Show at Earls Court every October. Lots of free samples and new brands to discover!

Dancergirl · 20/08/2018 11:32

Also, if you ever watch films at an Everyman cinema, their chocolate buttons are to die for!

StableGenius · 20/08/2018 11:43

On holiday in Germany last week we were all drawn to the Milka display in the supermarket and bought a bar each - even the dc could tell the difference between the Milka and a Dairy Milk (to Dairy Milk's substantial disadvantage).

Contemplating moving to Germany now Grin.

WhatsInAnotherNameChange · 20/08/2018 12:20

The Irish Cadbury's site shows palm oil and shea butter in all Dairy Milk products.

www.cadbury.ie/products

Thymeout · 20/08/2018 13:34

Whats Possibly in different proportions? It might be that they can use more palm oil to shea butter in a block than in a Flake, where the layers need to stay separate. Or perhaps it's down to the eating experience but I do think the Flakes I buy in the UK taste better than other Cadbury products.

What I want is a milk chocolate where you can still taste the cocoa, half-way between milk and dark. Whittaker's fits the bill perfectly.

PerverseConverse · 20/08/2018 14:07

The Irish stuff vis amazon shows no she's or palm though. I'm taking this research very seriously and will have to get some Grin

JuneFromBethesda · 20/08/2018 14:07

Inspired by INeedShoes I littered along to Waitrose on my lunch break and got some Waitrose 1 milk chocolate. It’s yummy 😋 I also like the fact that they make little 30g bars to help me moderate my chocolate intake (rather than scoffing an entire 250g in one sitting).

Dancergirl if you sign up for Love Cocoa emails you should be sent a 10% off code. Thanks for the tips about the Everyman choc buttons, I will definitely try them, and also the Earls Court chocolate show!

Neither my figure nor my finances can justify a Love Cocoa order at the moment but I will be watching reviews with interest ...

JuneFromBethesda · 20/08/2018 14:09

pottered along ...

I noticed that Waitrose’s own Belgian milk chocolate bar doesn’t contain palm oil either, so might try that next.

3luckystars · 20/08/2018 14:11

I know I know.

It has been RUINED and nobody can get through.

I'm praying for a miracle.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 20/08/2018 14:37

I have found my people. Tried a kitkat for the first time in years yesterday and couldn't belive how not nice it was. DH agreed.

INeedNewShoes · 20/08/2018 14:48

I have just done a Love Cocoa order. I'm intrigued enough to try it out but at £1 more per bar than Divine chocolate which I like anyway, this is just to satisfy my curiosity rather than being the beginning of an ongoing Love Cocoa relationship I think.

WhatsInAnotherNameChange · 20/08/2018 14:52

Remember, chocolate is supposed to be a 'once in a while' treat. A luxury.

Not part of your daily life.

JuneFromBethesda · 20/08/2018 14:52

Sadly I still find Kitkats edible, and some days only a Kitkat will do. I think my childhood love of them will win through however disgusting they taste 😂

BackinTimeforTea · 20/08/2018 14:55

junefrombethesda spot on, Waitrose Belgian chocolate a long time favourite here (just sitting in front of a packet of it) and great value - and you’re right, no sniff of palm oil in it.

So why is it so hard for other brands to remove?

BackinTimeforTea · 20/08/2018 14:56

Noticed m&s have a good range of £2 high end choc bars, single origin etc - anyone tried those? Are they any good?
