Very excited. I'm having my first trip to Aldi tomorrow. What goodies do I need?

Avoid the aisle of doom.

WooYa · 16/08/2018 16:00

It doesn't matter what you think you need... you will spend £12368 on crapGrin

Elderflower14 · 16/08/2018 16:01

I will reply what others replied to me when I posted this question :-
Look at all the other Aldi threads on here!! Wink

Thatforagameof · 16/08/2018 16:02

Pack of 4 caramel shortbreads, honeycomb ice cream, minted lamb kebabs, cod & parsley sauce fishcakes, bbq pork pizza.

Aprilshowersinaugust · 16/08/2018 16:03

Salmon and lemon fishcakes!!
Refrigerated individual puddings.

Elderflower sparkling water.

isseywithcats · 16/08/2018 16:05

Their cheese and
cooked meats selection is very good , their smoked haddock with cheese filling fish cakes are divine, the versions of branded chocolate like marathons, mars bars and twixes are a lot cheaper and taste exactly the same, cereals are perfectly acceptable,

mrsoutnumbered · 16/08/2018 16:06

Boneless bbq ribs (sans as M&S and half the price) and green yoghurt (the proper stuff, not Greek style).

mrsoutnumbered · 16/08/2018 16:07

Sans = same
Green = Greek

I haven't been drinking, honest.

DeeplySleeping · 16/08/2018 16:31

Their cheapo wine about £2.60 tropical mix it's lovely 😂. I love everything from there just done my weekly shop today I save a fortune every Time. Baby event is on today too

2slicesoftoast · 16/08/2018 16:34

World Foods Mushroom and Garlic risotto. Not the chicken and vegetable one as it is horrible!

ALemonyPea · 16/08/2018 16:35

Gorgonzola dop cheese. It’s amazing if you like stinky cheese.

MsHomeSlice · 16/08/2018 16:38

their fillet steaks are lovely, do have a rummage for decent shape ones though, some of them can be very odd ends and not so nice.

their ground coffee and coffee beans are all very good, the italian beans/ground and the decaff ground.

HolyMountain · 16/08/2018 16:40

A grocery shop I can spend £80, for 4 men in the house and me.

Special Buys can whack it up to over £100 because I love the stuff so much, particularly home accessories; cushions, blankets and duvet covers

I love the pizza.
The cheese.
The bread.
The caramel slices.
The Greek yogurt.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 16/08/2018 16:41

Next time I go I’m getting a Jo Malone reed diffuser after reading the reed diffuser thread that’s going in Housekeeping.

Their Gin & Tonic ice lollies might just fall into my shopping bag too...

Frogletmamma · 16/08/2018 16:44

Duck breasts are cheap and the odd decent bottle of wine they are selling strangely cheap.

Avoid cycling accessories, childrens socks and portable BBQ aisle. It is for the unwary.

Figmentofimagination · 16/08/2018 16:44

Chilli cheese! Can't get enough of it!
The big tubs of fruit yogurt, and the chocolate desserts with cream on top

TheExhausted · 16/08/2018 16:45

Stock up on their own brand rocky/mars/twix biscuits. They taste exacly the same but much cheaper. I love their antibac wipes and fragrance free soap.

Elephantgrey · 16/08/2018 16:48

The Moser Roth chocolate and fine instant coffee ( a fake Nescafé Azera) are lovely.

If you have a baby their nappies and 100% wipes are really good. 1/5 of the price of Pampers.

Oldraver · 16/08/2018 16:49

Alpaca muslin cloths.....

IncyWincyGrownUp · 16/08/2018 16:50

The sour cream and onion lentil curl snacks are addictive. They’re basically bags of mini poppadoms and they’re evil. Evil I tell you!

The kids love the salami and pepperoni supplies when they’re in pizza mode, which is approximately once every two and a half hours over the summer months.

The big packs of chicken breasts are superb value, as are the 1kg packs of 5% mince. I just did a £40 shop today and I’ve got meals for a week and more brioche than even my children will be able to consume over the weekend.

MadisonAvenue · 16/08/2018 16:54

Fruit pastilles, 59p for a bag.
Mint tea bags, the fancy ones in a tall think box.

tuckingfypo · 16/08/2018 16:58

This chocolate is amaaaaazing! So worth getting fat(ter) for!
