I am feeling nostalgic. So vintage toys I loved

Sindy -especially ice skating Sindy as she had a tragic back story

Piippa- mad about the shoes

Merlin- cutting edge electronic game which still works

Escape from Coldiz - brilliant board game

I had a red plastic chimney which opened up and was a house inside, I loved it so much as a child.

Polly Pockets, which my 5 year old son would love.

GloGirl · 15/08/2018 21:09

I bought my DH Escape from Colditz this year, he was very excited.

I'd love the proper teeny tiny Polly Pockets again.

MissTulipan · 15/08/2018 21:10

Strawberry Shortcake

iklboo · 15/08/2018 21:12

My china dolls tea set. My cousin smashed mine in a Chopper (bike) wheelie related incident when we were little. DH found one on eBay a couple of years ago and got it for me. He got me a Merlin as well.

TeenTimesTwo · 15/08/2018 21:13

Appel! Appel! Appel! (sp?) Yes to escape from Colditz.

The Palitoy Tree House, I loved mine, played with it endlessly. (I still haven't forgiven James May for blowing one up on TV)

Sindy was so much better than Barbie, I had the grey horse for mine too. You used to be able to buy clothes and shoes I think, for pocket money?

I had a toy typewriter, it was in a blue plastic case. I copies pages out of books mostly, in between skinning my fingers on the metal keys.

Girls World, took mine with me when I went to stay with a cousin, her mum had taken the make-up away so she was only allowed to do the hair. I ruined mine when I used felt pens after the make-up ran out.

Not toys, but Ladybird Fairytale books, I had them all when I was little, and bought them from charity shops for 10p when my dc were small, trying to buy them for dgd has been a shock, they're so expensive now, even on ebay.

PrivateParkin · 15/08/2018 21:26

Fashion Plate (I think it was called) a sort of small easel thing where you could change the head/body/legs to make different outfits and looks, trace them and colour them in.

Also, a toy sewing machine.

Princess my friend had that tree house and a Big Yellow Teapot, I coveted them both.

drspouse · 15/08/2018 21:27

I got DD the Fisher Price record player for her birthday.
DH always wanted Mousetrap so that's on the Christmas list.
I had one Sasha doll but desperately wanted another.

PrincessIsAUnicorn · 15/08/2018 21:27

@bushtailadventures sorry, thought it was tiny tots, apologies Blush

PrincessIsAUnicorn · 15/08/2018 21:29

@PrivateParkin oh yes the big yellow teapot, I loved the people the most though, think I used to run off with as many as I could BlushConfused

PrivateParkin · 15/08/2018 21:33

Drspouse are you going to get a vintage Mousetrap? We've got the new version, it's ok but just not a patch on the original (although admittedly doesn't take hours to set up, as the old one seemed to!).

bushtailadventures · 15/08/2018 21:36

@PrincessIsAUnicorn , no need to apologise, I only know it was Palitoy after I looked into buying one on Ebay Blush I didn't get one, but only because I gave myself a very severe talking to!

bookmum08 · 15/08/2018 21:37

I had that Treehouse. I don't really remember much about it but I remember having it.

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 15/08/2018 21:37

I had the yellow teapot and the red chimney... I loved them both.

I loved my sindy... She seemed more wholesome than barbie.

birdling · 15/08/2018 21:40

Flower fairies.... proper Flower Fairies... (Sigh) I loved them.

MissTulipan · 15/08/2018 21:44

Spent hours with my tree house, with the garage and the lift. My Sindy house was wonderful, also had a lift at the front. Hours of fun I had with that.

Notonyournelly98 · 15/08/2018 21:45

A playgroup I attend with my dd has the Fisher price carpark - I love playing with it Blush

Big yellow teapot was a firm favourite of mine. I tried buying dd one off ebay last Xmas but they were too expensive to justify.

Loved both of these too

Girls World, my mum wouldn’t get it for me but luckily I found it at a school jumble sale! I loved sitting doing her hair.

PrivateParkin · 15/08/2018 21:45

birdling I loved the flower fairies as well

SummerLoving1 · 15/08/2018 21:49

I had flower fairies. Let me go off an find their names, I've forgotten but I know how they looked!

drspouse · 15/08/2018 21:50

Private I saw one on eBay so I think we will.

Sweetiedarlingletmein · 15/08/2018 21:50

Petite Post Office. Hours of fun!
Keepers, plastic animals you could hide stuff in. Mine was a pink snail. Also had a big yellow teapot which I loved.
