What's the longest you've lived in one house?

We're thinking of moving in a year or so, and it suddenly occurred to me that it will be quite a shock to live in a different house after being in the same one for 17 years.

Previously I'd only lived somewhere for a maximum of 3 years, so didn't get quite so attached.

Got me thinking, and being nosy about other people, and what it's like to move after being in one particular home for so long.

Well, I’ve been in this house for 35 years...!

We've been in our current one for almost 17 years too, which is the longest I've lived anywhere. I don't think we'll be moving again, we love our home and it would be too much of a wrench to move.

35 years also

Aged 1-16 I lived in 11+ different houses. I hated it.
17-32 I lived In one, my little flat I had my two kids in that flat and would of stayed there forever but my eldest became disabled so we got a move to a house via the council.
Been here just over 1 year and hope never to move again.
My kids are 16 and 8 and adjusted well to the move. We moved to the next road so their lives are exactly the same, I think that’s helped.

6 since leaving home.

27 years in current house.

I know someone who lives in the house he was born in 74 years ago.

Almost 20 years

6 years.

Lived in 13 places between 18 and 28.
Really would love forever home. This isnt a particularly nice one :(

16 years (the House I live in now).

37 years.

I've been in this house for 16 years. Longest I've ever lived anywhere forces brat as a child

5 years. I like moving.

The one I currently live in! 18 years, all of my adult life.

Since leaving home the longest is 10 years, but it was 13 years in the same house while I was a kid.

31 years

5 years in this house . Longest so far and no intention of moving for at least 15 more.

This is my 21st home since leaving my parents house at 18. I'm done moving for a long time.

Wow some interesting posts there! I think it will probably do me good to move, before I get more too set in my ways

H1 - 2 years (aged 0 to 2),
H2 - 10 years
H3 - 11 years
H4 (first not with my parents and about to move out) z 10 years.

Hoping next one will last me to 60yo making it 27 years there.

21 years, last house was 12 years, before that renting or with parents

12 years between 2 and 14

In adult life lived in a house from 18 to 27 so 9 years

Nearly 15 years the last house. My husband lived in his childhood home his whole life (before moving in with me excluding uni). We moved around a lot of before our last house probably 5 years was the max in any house
