Do you think celebs really have 'showmances' purely for PR purposes?

This never occurred to me before...
I had thought that sometimes before a film comes out or something, that to create extra publicity the production company with the agreement of the actors might get a few pap photos of the stars looking vaguely like they were maybe on a date or whatever...

But whole relationships?
Surely thats a bit of a conspiracy thing?

But ive noticed otherwise reasonable friends saying it about Cumberbatch and his wife, Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift. actually Taylor Swift with anyone... and Tom Cruise with anyone, George and Amal Clooney....

And I just dont really buy it? That anyone would or could go to those lengths just for self promotion? Bring that type of attention on themselves?

If you think these relationships are fake can I ask why or if you have any concrete reason to believe that?

Not that in the grand scheme of things it really matters either way... but im just really curious as to why people seem to really believe that this goes on? maybe they know something I dont?

Yes of course they do! It's all about PR and celebrity column inches.

I definitely think it's true in some cases, but there'll be a mixture. People who got set up but genuinely like each other, people who agree it for mutual benefit, and yeah, the odd contracted full on fauxmance.

Just because someone has fake relationships, doesn't mean they don't also have real ones though. For example I think that Tom Hiddlestone and Harry Styles were definitely 'buzz' relationships, but that Taylor Swift's longer romances - Calvin Harris and her current guy - are genuine.

I'm fascinated by these fauxmances. Ronaldo for instance, does he really pay models to pose as his girlfriend for several years and hire women to bear his babies while he has a secret long term gay relationship? What a sad situation if true. I always wonder how many people around them know the truth.

I would love to know if George and Amal are genuine. Oh to be a fly on the wall in their lovely house on the river island.

They don't actually have to do any more pretending that being seen out together do they? They don't have to set up pretend home together and spend their time pretending to each other I don't suppose.

think people used to say it about a certain dimple faced girl from the North East and whichever footballer she was with.

Some of its about hiding sexuality too though, sexuality which would have damaging consequences in certain parts of the world.

Taylor Swift is as gay as the day is long. I’d bet my house on it, for various reasons. Sadly I don’t think she and her lady friend (who is also famous) will ever come out as while ladyfriend’s career doesn’t depend on being perceived as straight, TS’s does as there are still plenty of places/people that wouldn’t buy from a lesbian musician

You only have to read blind gossip sites to see how many beards there are.
Leo di Caprio has a succession, as does Bradley Cooper.
Kanye & Kim. (Kanye's boyfriend is some Italian designer who made Kim the floral horror for the met gala when she was pregnant.)
Amal & Cindy Crawford are both beards for the George Rande romance.

I dont believe those blinds they are too outrageous and funny to be real.

However, Amal and George doesnt seem genuine to me. Its just so sickly sweet and gushing. Ive heard far too many stories about him from people that have worked with him saying he deffo bats for the other side that i can quite believe it. I think he has his eye on the White House.

Why would Cindy C and Amal agree to beard though? They're amazing women who got to the top off their respective professions on their own. I can understand some rookie model agreeing to "go out with" Ronaldo or Cooper in order to further her career and earn some dosh, but Cindy and Amal needed no help on the employment/financial front. Maybe I'm being dense - missing something -

I don't believe most of the blinds but I do think some celebs do have 'showmances'. I think a lot of them are just publicity for movies where they are told to cuddle up on the red carpet to deliberately create a bit o f a story. I can't believe there are as Many beards as the blinds make out. Some of them are literally rehashed again for different celebs. The Cumberbatch ones are written by a small group of quite disturbed people, one of whom he had to get a restraining order out against. For some reason I do believe the Ronaldo and Bradley Cooper ones. Ronaldo has 3 surrogate children. Why would you do that if you were straight? Football is very homophobic. Both Cooper and Ronaldo come from very traditional strict Catholic backgrounds.
