I have read all sorts of rubbish by sleb authors - although I am ashamed of paying 50p for a book written by Fern Britten, which was so badly written, the tiny cottage the heroine lived in was able to accommodate 12 overnight guests for Christmas etc etc and despite being overweight, unlikeable and unemployed, was able to snare the only single, gorgeous man in the village.

Her husband is/was very lovely. Fern left (pay dispute? Phil earned more) and her career faltered somewhat. Strictly didn't revive it that well and she didn't enjoy it cos Artem pushed her too much. I miss Smiley Carol, Carol Smiley.

I don't tend to read many books by slebs though as many are going to be thin/Xmas autobiography or first attempts at fiction or ghost written.
I quite liked Playing with the grown ups Sophie Dahl. Brian Blessed's autobiography narrated in his dulcet tones is, well, BRIAN BLESSED.
Liked Russell Brand's first autobiography, not second, title aside, the first it had an honesty to it that was admirable. Enjoyed David Niven and Joan Collins.
Hated Jo Brand's first autobiography, it was bland, seemed heavily self-edited and stopped clearly so there would be a sequel.
Nor was I impressed with Dawn French's prose but am in the minority there.
Have liked Stuart Maconie's travel books. Any recommendations, do tell.
Mark Watson I want to like > than I do. Xmas cash-ins I hate, Miranda Hart's awful, David Mitchell's autobiography harmless but boring.
I liked Jon Ronson's novella on Frank Sidebottom.

raised I have never seen Going Downtown Abbey but if based on real life shudder to think of the content of fanfic (strap-ons, analingus, the "treat" of mutual bum-sniffing, cock-slapping) and in one case golden showers. By co-incidence I stumbled across some yesterday on twitter and I think I have lived a very sheltered life

Downtown Abbey is what we referenced it as (well sang it, me: Petula, him: Macklemore) in our house due to me mispronouncing it. Please tell me it's not a real thing but if it were, it would be filther than Georgian shore and make the latter look positively Victorian.

I think some of the Tumblr Superfans/Superfoes are more interesting than the subject of their blogs. A Big Brother special of the loverz vs the haterz could save Emma Willis from career obliteration. Though I suspect they'd demand anonymity as they all actually have super high power jobs to hold down.
