HotandBothered my pil live right near the "beach" down there! Fantastic views from their house - where are you now?

saltire · 19/01/2007 12:06

No Fimbo. I'll give you a wee clue. DH is in the military

Fimbo · 19/01/2007 12:08

Light bulb goes on - L then!! {phew got there at last} You do realise that Cod was lived there for a couple of years when she was young as her df is/was a padre.

saltire · 19/01/2007 12:12

It is L, been here a few years now, but possible moving away down to the south of England sometime this year, boo hoo.
I knew Cods dad was a pader, but had no idea she had lived here.
I love the area, and really hope that we can stay here. Was your PIL ever in the military? I did wonder if your DH was, because you said you had originally come from this area, and were now living in Norfolk, we lived there for about 6months, in the middle of nowhere.

hotandbothered · 19/01/2007 12:12

Now down south. Went away to uni and haven't made it back yet... Parents moved too, as have most of my school friends - its very sad. We're planning a camping trip this Summer, want to show dd where mummy went to school etc
I know L too...! Still haven't worked out S

saltire · 19/01/2007 12:12

Padre, even ,not pader

Fimbo · 19/01/2007 12:15

I was thinking of small stations where trains don't stop much so came up with Springfield for "S"!

My dh is not military, he used to work in Perth at Pitheavlis if you can get it from that! Norwich is another clue!

hotandbothered · 19/01/2007 13:37

Of course... Just couldn't think!

saltire · 19/01/2007 13:46

Am thinking of cooking Stovies for tea tonight... do I need beef dripping like Mum always used? Any recipes?

Macdog · 19/01/2007 15:07

this or this any good to you?

ItsMeMellowma · 19/01/2007 15:10

I had no idea mince was used in stovies. I always used sausages although my friends sometimes used corned beef.

Macdog · 19/01/2007 15:13

The joy of stovies is that it's anything you want it to be !!

hotandbothered · 19/01/2007 15:19

Perfect Macdog - thank you! We usually had sausages in it too, but have mince so that's tea sorted!

ItsMeMellowma · 19/01/2007 15:21

I love stovies... we are having beef olives, dh brought some in last week and was very excited with himself, I went to cook them and realised there was nothing in the middle, we had the beef but no olive

So we had beef and potatoes

I have checked the ones I have bought and they have something in the middle so I am to a good start....

hotandbothered · 19/01/2007 16:51

Yum! Oh will have to go shopping for the makings of beef olives now...

ScottishMummy · 19/01/2007 17:42

DS1 has to learn the following poem by Tuesday:

nessie the loch ness monster
wad seem to be gey blate
and doesna like the scientist chiels
The come, and site and wait.

Buf gif ye want to see her
Pretend ye dinna care
Keek oot the corner o your ee
Ye'll see her sommin there.

She'll wiggle-humphie-waggle
She'll google wi her een
Sine dissapear ablow the loch
